about mutual funds.
in my understanding, its like buying a stock. where you buy the value of the share at current cost
and sold it later. the value is called nav per share
you can check the current values here: http://www.icap.com.ph/factsfignavps.asp
investors buy shares .
example if current nav per share is 1 peso per share
Assuming theres no opening fee, you get 50,000 shares
financial experts which are hired by the company you have your mutual funds invested with will
then pool the investors(yours and others) money together and invest it in stocks/banks/government bonds etc
if the invested money will grow, assuming the value is now 2 pesos per share
assuming again there is no closing fee/minimum days to invest fee.
you sell your 50,000 shares at 2pesos per share so you get 100,000 pesos
