Why are electronics stuff so expensive in the Philippines?

Because we just make the products here and sell electronics good in other places/countires.. when the goods will be sold here then, it will include marketing cost, transportation cost, of course import taxes etc on top of the margin cost that's how it is

dili man tanan electronic stuff mahal dre...in fact, ngka barato pa gani.

kana diay mga DVD player, MP3 player, tv, stereo components, basta kana lng pud dili mga sikat nga brand...

and if u refer to laptops, ipods, and other gadgets, mka palit ra man ka ug second hand...(actually ang new ipods are getting cheaper na)...hehe

simple answer.. because it is imported..
ofcourse barato sa US cause it was invested and discovered there?
same question why mahal ang redhorse sa Singapore? or any Philippine made products in the US.

Anyways Gadgets are a luxary things so dont complain kng mahal coz if you cant afford one dont get one..

mostly electronics stuff in singapore are imported but still cheaper by 30-40% compare to philippines...

There are a lot of factors.

1. Philippines is not a known technological country manufacturing-wise. The shipment fees are usually too high.

2. Tax.

3. Some businesspersons also take advantage about the lifestyle of most Filipinos. Most Filipinos would die to have the latest electronics gadgets there is. They don't care about the price, all they care about is having the stuff.

4. The resellers are are usually the last in the line, tanan nga patong naa na.

most of the manufacturers of electronics are based in China, nya doul pa dyud ang pinas sa china pero mas mahal pa kay sa mga gadgets when you buy it in europe or US.....haaay na lang.....

Electronic parts are manufactured here...in all EPZ's around the countryside. If only the government would give discounts to locals... just wishing
