For those who don't know yet, the MENU key has many uses. It is like alt+tab on Windows.
If you are in an application, you could press it to go back into the main menu without closing the app.. This is very useful since opening apps on older S60 phones is very slow, but when you only minimise it, switching it back is instant.
If you long press it, it will bring up a list of running apps, allowing you to quickly switch between apps. And if you press the C/clear key, it will close that app. This frees up RAM, which is very limited on older S60 phones again.
you could install apps that monitor the RAM you are using.. The best i've tried is Best TaskMan, but it isn't free.
LCG X-plore is the best file manager i've tried. Not free again, but there are crak versions online. It allows you to send .jar files, so you could share java games with friends.
fring is a really good IM client.. It now supports Yahoo. You could also make skype calls. And it's FREE.
mShell is like command line for your phone. Very hard to use the m language, but free m scripts online are very useful. One script could reply to sms automatically when you recieve a message with a specified keyword. FREE.
i'll post more later.. Hope this helps someone.
