I'm just curious if any of Rand's work ever touched or if it was likely of her to dismiss, accept or validate her views against Maslow's view on Human Motivation/Hierarchy of Needs. I can only find very little association of Rand's philosophy to psychology as I read her in "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal."

Can't wait to hear Gareb, "the Randian Guru," to shed light on the subject. .

nathaniel branden, a one time "lover" and disciple, is a professor in columbia univ. who founded an Objectivist psychology based on Rand's Philosophy. He was suppose to be the intellectual heir of Rand, until they broke up and rand banished him from her Circle. Since then, she designated Peikoff as her intellectual heir.

    hmm... ideological heir?

    sounds shifty to me.

i find it strange that right libertarians, as indivualist as they can get, can quarrel among themselves regarding ideological purity

and to think that i assumed such squabbles only occur among the authortarians and collectivists.

Interesting! I read the whole thread and found out that I am now hesitant to read Ayn Rand. From the exchanges, am I right to assume that Ayn Rand is no "light reading?"

I have in my hand a copy of The Fountainhead. What can i expect out of this book?
