Did you mean we have to legalized prostitution first before the police will have the authority to control this?Does it mean the raids in beerhauses,the strip shows is illegal?Because prostitution has not been legalized does it mean the authorities doesnt have the right to control it?What is the use of these raids by the way.?Maybe we will have a broad meaning for the word control.lol

POLICE conducts raids :

- after finding out that prostitution is happening
- after finginf out that minors are working in the club
- after finding out that the business is illegitimate ( no license / permits )
- after finding out that other illegal business is being conducted othewr than the actual nature of the business

Of course POLICE will have a basis before having a control on any situation . Now what is that basis ? Isnt it the LAW ? Now as ive said that PROSTITUTION should be legalized , that would be a LAW now that if you are a PROSTITUTE , you are not violating any laws under some conditions covered by the LAW legalizing it .

The use of the POLICE RAIDS ? To shut down ILLEGITIMATE BUSINESSES and those you mentioned are just only what we call PROBABLE CAUSE .

well, it might be prudent also to look into the case of the red light district in netherlands to understand how it was being formed, and why it will be next to impossible in legalizing it here.

Prostitution in the Netherlands is legal and common. A majority of the women working in prostitution are foreigners, and the country is fighting against human trafficking.

Current legal situation:

Prostitution is defined as a legal profession; prostitutes have access to the social security system, may join unions, have to pay income tax and are treated like any other self-employed tradesperson. Health and social services are readily available, but the women are not required to register or undergo regular health checks.

Prostitutes must be at least 18 years old, while for non-commercial *** the age of consent is 16. Clients must be at least 16. Violation of either age limit is a crime for the other party, and possibly for a pimp.

Brothels are licensed legal businesses which are allowed to advertise. Pimping and trafficking human beings is illegal.

Forms of prostitution:

Prostitutes in the Netherlands work in several types of prostitution. The most common form is in *** clubs and private houses. Approximately 32% are Dutch, 22% are Latin American, 19% are Eastern European, 13% are African (south of the Sahara), 6% come from other countries from the European Union (aside from the Netherlands), 5% come from Northern Africa and 3% are Asian.
