i pointed out the "nigga" thing coz i've been in NY & NJ for around 6 months for the first time in my life. that was 2002. thus i found the opportunity for observation at close encounters...nowadays, the white americans are avoiding to discriminating black, latin, arabic, chinese and pinoy americans and vice versa, well, except for some isolated cases...i mean in the streets...

but rarely can we find it now in their movies or tv's. if there is, it will convey the final message that discrimination is not good. but then comes this "desperate housewives" pinoy slur case....

and now we have our own visayan slur case...tsk..tsk...how disappointing.

mao gyud ning mga pinoy, sobra ka sensitive. naa pud ni si pimentel nga pasikat kaayo bisan gamay kaayo nga issue kung diin gamay ra unta kaayong pinoy ang maka bantay ani, padak on gyud. pwedi man unta ni niya i diretso sa officials sa company para dili mu complicate. pero unsaon, gusto man gyud magpahumot sa public.

very nice observation bro... mao gyud na dili nako masabtan sa atong attitude kanang sobra ka gamay na issue himu-on dako. did pimentel think it was intended that way by the film makers? imho, gapakaulaw lang. instead of wasting time on that issue, i hope he addresses things that would improve our ways of living. nisunod lang siguro sa katong usa sad nga nipalag sa desperate housewives episode na nag-mention about our medical schools kay nahimo man gyud to nga international issue. ngita lang ug paagi na makuha ang limelight. even the kids and their yayas didn't interpret it the way he did. kung ingon ana siya, ngano dili man siya mupalag sa mga caricatures sa newspapers depicting politicians in a very satyric manner?

as i have pointed out earlier, that is not the point...u r just reiterating similar arguments from other posters in this thread.

(1) ang nagpakaulaw dili si sen. pimentel, pablo garcia, or magpale, but c jose reyes and the SSS...

(2) ang nikopya sa desperate housewives issue dili c pimentel but SSS...

(3) a hot issue is not necessarily a priority issue but could be a sensitive issue...

(4) an ethnic slur issue is not good both internationally and domestically...especially in movies and tv's...(and yes, undoubtedly it was made that way by the SSS film makers)

(5) a joke or humor is good as long as it is not done in bad taste...

(6) political caricatures are way very much different from an ethnic slur...

(7) being 'praning' or paranoid is different from being sensitive and sensible...

a slur is a term or word/s used to insult on the basis of race, ethnicity, or nationality...ok ra kng naa ra mahitabo sa mga isig ka tawo, but on tv or movie?...and that's insignificant? how about if a slur is committed by top politicians on their official or press statements? insignificant also?

so u mean the desperate housewives case is just a showbiz issue? aw c'mon, wake up...dili sab tawn ubos ang utok ang mga pinoy doctors to react oist...it goes beyond showbiz...LOLZ
