"Cruelty" is sometimes in the nature of humor though, it may not be funny to be on the receiving end.

Who has not made fun of another person or group of persons? [Revised]

Humor does not justify slurs but, it may encourage it.

Any slur is unpleasant to the receiver but, since one already knows how it feels, perhaps, it's more self honest not to commit the same.

Retaliation would probably increase the desire to make further slurs, if only to give spite because, they obviously had you the first time.

The one giving the slur already suffers from arrogance, like the hare that lost the race to the turtle. That person is cursed with overconfidence that conceivably will bear nasty results in other areas of life - and no one has to lift a finger.

hmmm it's not just about pride, it's about respecting other people/ethnicity.
ignorance should not be tolerated, if ignorance would continued other ethnicity would remain to be the subject of ridicule... and labeling a certain group will create division. people must have a spine on this issue.

actually, saying "Bisaya-a sab nimo uy!", will have a diff. meaning when a bisaya talks to a bisaya, as compared for a tagalog saying the same thing to a bisaya.

when a black american says "What's up my nigger?" to a fellow black american is okay, but a white american to a black american means he is looking for trouble...

we have been proving them wrong for quite some time already. the question is, do you have a cebuano film production as big as Star Cinema? and by proving them wrong using the same medium of expression, we have to make a film exactly the opposite of what's happening in SSS?...how absurd.
