A long term poverty mindset stemming from a disease in politics, corruption, selfishness and division.

Bisan kinsay presidente mao ra gihapon, unless a total renewal taken by all in the government. ilisdan tanan. start from scratch.

OT rani nako ky kabaw ko daghan negosyante mo angal ky maputol ilang mga connections.

One is irresponsible media, feeding crap to the uneducated population. Among other factors, the media is fueling the vicious cycle of poverty, ignorance, mediocre outlook, less opportunity, and back to poverty. They produce mediocre shows that keep the people less-informed, maniacal entertainment that diverts the people's attention from reality, sensationalized newscasts that numb people's sensibilities. All of these, the filipinos looked like they live in their own wretched yet cozy universe from the outside. I think we'd be better off without the kind of media that we have now. But of course, it would be less 'bibo'.

Sakto ka bro, but many times starting from scratch is better then fixing a lot of loose end problems.

Sa programming bitaw bro, it is best to start again then find the problem ky mahurot imong time.

No one has the answer ky everyone wants something for themselves first and then for the country second. but if we are to change the financial status of our nation it will take all of our help.

Every Filipino must unite and be in a common goal. A decision to prosper and cooperate with programs that improve our finances and lifestyle.

We need to get off the Juan tamad mindset and start thinking big. We have the resources, we have the skills, we have the manpower and we can do it.

the only things bringing to my mind that could start us from scratch is war, a successful coup, or, another People Power thingy...and we don't want them to happen again ever.
it will bring our economy back again from somewhere, instead of going forward.

Sometimes, it is good to give a "political appeal", saying our economy is improving, our peso is strong, tourism is increasing, fight over poverty & corruption...WITHOUT giving emphasis on the other side of the story, INORDER to uplift the spirit of the people, and thus inculcating a more positive and more progressive mindset & outlook in life.

Take for example the typhoon Nitang (or was it Ruping) that wrecked havoc Cebu a long time ago. The national gov't estimated that it would take a year for Cebu's economy to bounce back...but Mayor Tomas' inspiring words made us think otherwise and Lo! it only took a month for us to bounce back to normal...see?

There's too much politicking, so to speak. The public officials are not concerned to the affairs of the State but to the promotion of their personal interests. If only they will do their respective duties that they promised to the people, we will be in a better situation. What's happening right now is that some are so eager in improving the country while some will simply do everything to put a bad image on them. How can we move on if there's a barrier?

Perhaps, success is a personal accomplishment. I agree that the environment (external factors) can help or hinder but, in the long run, as the saying goes, life maybe what we make it.

I think, if there are enough prosperous persons or organizations in a group or area, reaching a "critical mass," the rest may be pulled-up, to the extent individuals would help themselves. This may be a big plus but, may not be necessary, if enough oppurtunity exists, for a person dedicated to uplifting his or her life and everyone he or she cares for.
