To make it fair and to stop some speculations to whom you are accusing of "absorbing misleading and inaccurate general information ". give us yours and let us see.

dili bro, but i have few friends that "were" members of de molay...hehe. "were" ha ky nangalapas na man cla sa edad rn...

do u ask yourself why our national heroes like Rizal, Andres, and Aguinaldo joined freemasonry a long time ago?

It has to do with the Spanish colonizers, the introducer of the Christian faith in the phils., who at that time were ruthless oppressors of our ethnic race....so wat happened then, our heroes became fighters against the political system, and dat includes the religious system that mixed with it.

could be.. but then again, not all members were victims of religious oppression, basing from history, right?

nowadays, it's a given fact that some people join fraternal organizations mainly as an "ego booster", and access to jobs, politics & business...the mission & vision of the organization is just secondary...hehe

could be also.. but then again, it is "to make good men, better" right? so there's nothing wrong with trying to improve oneself into someone better, right? hehe..

I may have a different view based on understanding the sentence ( mission ) literally but then again , it is a personal point of view . What really lies behind it or the message they are really depicting and trying to send is totally different , we'll never know .

Now , my understanding to it is very simple and straightforward , actually it is only a 5 letter word . UNITY

The moment you became a DeMOLAY member , you will be a DeMOLAY member forever unless you get booted . The ages 13 to 21 depicts only to that age group where you will be eligible to become one .

OT:
dili bro oist...ALUMNI na cla. "A De Molay is a De Molay forever"...but not literally...of course, like any student orgs, they became inactive na sa De Molay after ni-graduate cla sa college...

but they can still register at their De Molay Alumni Association which welcomes those who "were" members of De Molay in their youth.

it is just like if u graduated from college that u become an alumni. but to become an "active" alumni, u have to register and pay membership fees to the alumni association...that's how i analyze it.

just like for junior jaycees, kng mulapas ka ug 20 yrs old, u can upgrade ur membership to the Jaycees chamber.

and like the Leo Club, after age 28, you can upgrade to Lions Club...

so depende ra gyud na sa organization...

when a DeMolay turns 21. he will become a Senior Demolay, thers only one DeMolay Alumni Assoc. here in Cebu
