i'm using an 8800gts 320mb right now... i have the latest powerdvd + the klite mega-codec pack + nvidia's purevideo decoder installed on the PC. the mediagate uses its own built-in codecs.

my rig + samsung 40" lcd via component video cables (soon via dvi to hdmi cable) + yamaha rxv-650 av receiver via optical cable + b&w dm-602 series 3 (front) w/ stand + b&w lcr-60 series 3 (center) + jvc surround speakers w/ stand + velodyne cht-10 subwoofer

my mediagate mg-350hd w/ 500gb hdd is also connected to my tv & av receiver.

@parts: many years in the making akong HT eqpt bro...hinay2x lang ug palit depende kung naa'y budget... this has been my dream since college days. happy to say it has materialized c",) c",) important thing is get the best equipment that you can get or just save until you have enough. ayaw mantiner ug baratohon kay in the long run, mas gasto kay sige ug upgrade.

i also hav the mg35, sayang lang gyud di cya ka play h264 files and no hdmi output. Anyways, planning to get the hd3870, whats ur opinion re this video card? What i like about it is better video decoding, whch is mostly done by the v.c. Itself, and it also does audio, so dvi to hdmi adapter includes 5.1 audioü im very temptd to gt the used 8800gts though up for grabs sa buy and sell sectionü heheü cencya sa txt nako, posting frm an n95ü

@muzicfreakah: the hd3870 has good reviews bro... and faster than my 8800gts c",) someone's selling it for around 10t+ but you shoulder shipping expenses... barato na if compared to other shops that have it. for on-chip decoding, i think the 8600 and 2400 video cards already do that. mao lang mas hinay sila compared sa 3870 ug 8800gts kung mag games ka...

@blade: Maolagi, I think if pure HTPC 3870 is the way to go and even the 3850 will do already. Sigh... Huwat lang ko maabot stock sa HD3870 Although I play games, dili gud kaayo grabeh, like right now im just playing guitar hero lolz
