    Order of Demolay is a masonic youth group named after Jacques Demolay. While they use Jacques as an example of loyalty and fidelity, they claim no direct connection with him nor with the Knights Templar. It was founded by Frank S. Land, a community leader who, at the age of 28, already had a successful business career as a restaurateur.

    The main event that lead to the founding of the DeMolay movement was World War I.

    Jacques de Molay (est. 1244–5/1249–50 – 18 March 1314), a minor Burgundian noble, served as the 23rd and officially last Grand Master of the Knights Templar. He was unable to lead the Templars through the inquisitions made against them and was burned at the stake on the Île de la Cité, an island in the Seine river in Paris on 18 March 1314.

    It has to do with the Spanish colonizers, the introducer of the Christian faith in the phils., who at that time were ruthless oppressors of our ethnic race....so wat happened then, our heroes became fighters against the political system, and dat includes the religious system that mixed with it.

    nowadays, it's a given fact that some people join fraternal organizations mainly as an "ego booster", and access to jobs, politics & business...the mission & vision of the organization is just secondary...hehe

    but i did not join masonic groups or freemasonry. i joined a professional fraternity (we had secret handshakes, grips, and the like) during my college years and i also joined a secular service organization during my early working years...hehe

    @GIDDYBOY ...

    Indeed for that matter we wont need no OFFICIAL SITE because that is GENERAL INFORMATION that :

    - Freemasonry is not a RELIGION
    - Freemasonry requires the person to believe in a SUPREME BEING to become one
    - Freemasonry is a not a SECRET SOCIETY but a SOCIETY with SECRETS

    Bro unsa pag sabot nimo aning ilang Mission sa Freemasonry? "Through us and those we have influenced through precept and example, Philippine society will be transformed into one in which men of every country, sect and opinion may live together in peace and harmony as brothers and friends."
    diri ni nako nakuha sa imong gihatag nga site http://glphils.org/glp2007/mission.html
