I have the 70-200 4 L non-IS. I like it very much, especially when in tandem with my 24-70 2.8 L.
What I mean is that the 70-200 focal length is very capable of giving excellent bokeh given its f/4 maximum aperture as long as you are mindful of the subject distance. Edwin is right. Even the 2.8 version could not give you a satisfactory bokeh when you are sniping or subject is quite far from you.
The 70-200 4 L IS has a later generation IS. In theory, it can be stopped down by 4 stops.
It should be great. Buy it unless, of course, the money difference is not much of an object. In which case, I will definitely grab the 2.8 IS version.

Im might settle for Sigma 18-200 DC OS...what do you think mga sirs hehehe...sayang man money oi to invest very expensive lens for hobbyist lang...

I'd rather get an L lens than a sigma. I mean, why settle for a sigma if you can afford an L lens (with the promo that is).

i have friends who are selling their non-OS version of that... its a good all around lens but... hmm... its not L, its not 2.8, not even a 4, not Canon and that lens is for PROs who wants money over quality. 70-200mm f4L IS in the other hand, is the best telephoto for amateur photographers...
70-200 2.8L IS is the best telephoto zoom for photo hobbyists who can afford...

hahahaha ahaka hala cge di nalang ko ana sigma canon nalang ko...but dont include the 2.8IS kay gi gyud na mahikap its either 4L IS and 2.8 non IS ra ko...
