lol with that money you couldve gotten a decent laptop and stand alone palm and decent phone.

as for a True notebook. a true notebook has way more features and should be just as portable and feature filled. EEE is soo limiting to paperwork internet and videos..

    i totally agree.
    i've got 2 laptops - a NEO and a Pavilion
but i intend to buy the EEE as well.

gamit kaayo ni when mag duty ko sa navigational bridge.
silaw ra kaayo sa mata if i use my laptop when on duty at night.
i was considering buying an i-mate/window mobile phones but this one is more practical.
i-mate phones cost 25,000 or more w/ additonal cost for a 2GB of memory.
kine 18,000 ra and w/ 4-8gb, thats more than enough for my navigational programs.

is it compatible with the built in linux or are you going to try install XP on it?

most of the navigation programs i have are freewares from Russsians,
i've read the read me files of the programs and most have Linux compability.
if some apps esp. ones from DeckMaster will have issues,
guess i'll have to wait for the Windows OEM release or install XP,
XPs don't cost that much anymore anyways - cost the same more or less if i buy a 2GB memory for the i-mate phone.

EEE pc is nice . I even plan to buy one.
4GB is enough for linux. still with extra space for open office documents if you use this as your working PC.
Also good for internet browsing. Most blogs and websites are optimized for 800px width.

Great for traveling also, bringing less than a kilo laptop and the size of a paper notebook is an ease .  No more shoulder pains.

Also thumb drives now are cheap. You could fill in 6 full-length divx movies in a 4GB drive, so watching movies is not a problem.  And is faster also to write on it than to burn new DVDs to watch it.
