    talk about hypocrites.
dude, you can't live in the philippines without getting exposed to these shows, i bet every non tagalog speaking foreigner here knows wowowee and the equivalent show on GMA.

so i am a hypocrte because i know people tend to scream "lower lower please" on deal or no deal and that there is a show with fat children who are probably the children of people in showbiz, doing sketches?

yes .. i watch these shows all the time... im a dorkwaad who thinks canada is in america , in fact i think everything outside the philippines is in america and people who are good in english are smart , while those who suck at english are stupid... yeeey... (This is sarcasm by the way, estor. I am assuming you are the kind of person who wouldn't get it if i wouldn't point it out.)

Perhaps you are right... but everytime i get forced to endure gma or abs, it's mostly these afternoon shows or prime time news about... huge snakes or what ever and comedy shows where fat children dress up with a dwarf... yehey

Should media be anti-government in order to be free, fair, unbiased, and balanced?

They say that media is not free, fair, and balanced if it is pro-government or if it runs news and programs favorable to the government, the people (the real people ha? and not those who are claiming to be representing the entire people even though they are not) and the economy...

I don't think so. Freedom should have a limitation.

There is no such thing as ABSOLUTE FREEDOM. Freedom has limitations...

Mediamen are human not machines.Sometimes they cant hide their emotions. If the govt is not worthy, mediamen not the media in general sometimes becomes unfair.

then these media reporters are not capable of doing their jobs well...they could be better off covering celebrity events where they could be as emotional as can be...a media reporter is supposed to cover events, not their own events.

one problem, local tv networks are now fond of making newscasters or reporters into celebrities or vice versa....

an anti govt media is not good, their job is to deliver news n dats all, i hate medias giving conclusion or personal reaction to a certain situation, i think it would b proper dat theyl dig in to the facts not giving comments which is very unprofessional, dats d reason wy som mediamen are executed or killed
