Media people nowadays think that their right to press freedom is superior to the right of the authorities. They thought that it is perfectly alright to barge in and stay in the middle of the operations because they will just be delivering news, as they would always like to imply.

They thought their right to press freedom does not have any limitation whatsoever. They are prone to abusing such right, IMHO. In the recent case, when the police tried to ask their assistance by leaving the premises, they just shrugged off the idea and continue with invoking their press freedom. They are now apprehended for not following the authorities.

some entertainment shows are garbage but definitely not their News and Public Affairs Programs. they generate huge load of money because in the first place its business.

they are not my only source of information but they are just one of my sources. how did you know about the Penn stand off? CNN? BBC? FOX News? Al Jazzera? wla man gud mi anang channela brod. but those news organizations have Philippine media organizations as their sources. or did you even know there was a Penn stand off?

no dude.. even the news is garbage, it is quite often biased... when entertainment and showbiz are so closely tied to each other, it is quite impossible to deliver objective news... if you try to pay some attention and check affiliates of the bosses of abs cbn, you see how bias both channels can be.. or you could simply continue watching your stuff in eternal ignorance, and shout "lower lower please" during that show where they do that... no wonder that show became a huge hit... you don't need brains or any thinking at all... you only need luck to succeed in it.

Lots of media have bias, there are those who lean towards the left, and those towards the right, but the Philippine news networks lean towards those who can make them the most money

sakto ka giddyboy. for me media should be given bounderies. if the Manila Pen went very bad, blamed gyud dayun ang Police. Media men not using their head.

Good thinking on Trillanes though for just surrendering. pataka ra kau ang media ato panahona, then dili pa gyud nila ihatag ang copy sa ila footage, what are they hiding from the govt. so Opposition sad sila?

Both Pinoy channels are garbage... and producing garbage 24/7. Idiotic shows like wowowee get the attention of millions in this country, and seeing one poor person showered with money makes them forget their own misery for a while.. just enough to stay inactive about theirr own situation until the next episode is aired.

I think almost every show on these two channels is designed to drop the IQ of its viewers (aside from generating a huge load of money of course)

Also it limits soooo many peoples horizons... like one poster above me claimed Helloooooo? are these the only two sources of information in your limited world? if you are against one channel you must be automatically be in cahoots with the other one I don't watch ABS CBN nor GMA.. what am i? "Kapuso"? "Kapamilya"? no.. I'm "Kahibalo", because i am aware that both channels are feeding me garbage

Of course they are above the law... most of the higher ranked politicians have a relative or a spouse somehow connected to showbiz .. People who get paid to entertain, shouldn't get chosen to lead

all i can say is that sa media lang between abs and gma 7, mas ganahan ko sa abs labi na sa tv patrol central visayas coz i find the news anchor like leo lastimosa more credible than bobby nalzaro nga perti rabang hambugero nga bayot kaayu og baba....

bitaw bisan daghan nisaway sa abs sa kadtong nahitabo ni trillanes sa manila peninsula, i still prefer abscbn, sa news lang...
