Yes, that's exactly what smokers say to themselves...and then a few years later...some (I'm saying some, not all) develop lung cancer. Would you be willing to "take your grain of salt", keep smoking and wait to find out if you're one of the "some"?

yeah...just like the study that alcohol causes breast cancer, right? what are they gonna come up with next? just the mere fact that we exist causes cancer? LOL...unsa man gamit aning mga studies, mura man ni'g mga no-brainer...i hope they come up with a study saying that anything and everything causes cancer, and be done with it...

Why limit yourself to just smoking? why don't you go ahead and tell coffee-drinkers to stop drinking coffee completely? hahaha! or better yet, as Khitty pointed out, about a certain study linking the "dioxin" in the air to cancer...why don't you go ahead and stop breathing altogether?

darkness stimulates production of melatonin so our body produces most of it during night time. light suppresses its production. so if you work night shift then you are exposed to light during this time (unless you work in a totally darkened room) so that means your body might not be producing enough melatonin. and it is believed that melatonin is a very stong antioxidant that suppresses abnormal cell growth (cancer), prevents aging and strengthens the immune system.
That can be remedied, Khitty. Palit nalang sila ug melatonin supplements, tag $2 ra sa Walmart. Problem solved! Kaluoy pud sa mga nag work graveyard shift noh? They should just quit their jobs altogether...unsaon nalang kinahanglan ta mo adto sa ospital at night? we'll need to wait until morning kay wala na'y mo trabaho sa gabii...

my point is, these stupid studies are getting to a point where they're just being absolutely ridiculous...

A stupid study is better than totally not studying anything at all. As the late great scientist and astronomer Carl Sagan used to say "It's not the ridiculous ideas that we are troubled about--its the suppression of these ideas that are MORE troubling."

And MY point is more on setting cynicism aside and just being open minded. I hope your cynicism does lead somewhere, my friend--in my case, abandoning that attitude has opened a lot of doors. Good luck.

Kuyawa nimo, ning abot naman ka'g suppression noh? reactionary pud kaayo ka oi, inflammatory kaayo...your talk about being open-minded, maybe you need to heed your own advice...labi na kay gi equate man nimo ang 'common sense' sa 'cynicism' kunohay...

And MY point is: if you believe so much in these studies, then maybe you need to stop breathing so you don't inhale the harmful toxins floating about in the air, thereby minimizing your risk for cancer...

Or maybe you can ask Carl Sagan's spirit to help you search for aliens in other planets nga puede nimo ma inhabit, kanang planet nga completely free of carcinogens...ok?
