practice makes perfect as they say...and when u do, try to expose urself involving conversation with expats! different people from all over the world have different ways of talking (using english language)...honestly, we love hearing them talk but they dont have the grammar actually. what is important to them is u can communicate and comprehend if u will live in their country. but since international companies are reducing their cost and utilizing cheap labor through outsourcing of personnel in our country, they try to set higher standards because you will be interacting with different people. u would not be an asset to their company if you wont be able to properly communicate then.

Bai, I'm glad you got that into words what you mean. Better than name calling, I think. This way, many are also edified.

You're right that very time consuming and unnecessary is undesirable. I do need some work in shortening what I have to say. At this stage, my goal is to be clear, and will have to be content to err on the elaborate side for now, rather than to err in being curt, and having to explain myself all over again - only to have to restate it in the elaborate manner I was avoiding in the first place. I'm working on it. Thanks for noticing, really but, I need you to be clear with direct descriptions, perhaps with some tips how to correct it. Thanks.

I taught English Composition and Grammar, form and style at a university once, and I realized that most students simply don't realize that what makes you fluent is not necessarily how good you are at learning the rules of grammar and and the ability to execute proper writing form (but they do indeed contribute a lot). For me the primary element in being fluent is immersion in the culture of the target language, in this case, American or British culture.
