i doubt is pinas can sustain.. nag ka mahal ang mga presyo sa mga fresh grad nato haaha.. taiwan is hot as well as with vietnam and thailand..

Hey bro! It is okay to doubt about it. But I would rather be more optimistic about the effect of call center to the Philippine and local economy.

And yes, I agree with you that Vietnam is catching up. However, the competitive advantage kay naa pa jud sa Philippines particularly Cebu. Vietnam has a way to go before it can be at par with India, Philippines and Eastern Europe although Hanoi has recently been recognized as one of the emerging BPO destinations.

Taiwan, I think has its own BPO companies. That is because its economy is more developed and it designs its own chips. It is one of the largest IT hubs in the world.

I don't know about Thailand. It is more focused on manufacturing exports. The country is still politically unstable.

maybe its time for RP to nationalize the industry so that we will become a BPO PROVIDER/SUPPLIER, with bargaining power coterminous to Saudi's oil. This is way better compared to a mere BPO haven for foreign investors nga mura lang nuon ta nag maintain og construction worker or mag-uuma sa tubo nga papauli-on sa balay kun wala nay trabahuon...

the project is feasible because not only that it requires less capital (i-improve ra man gamay ang education by more english and less bull****, then palit og daghan headsets sa cd r-king ), there is actually a damn need for foreing companies to outsource. The thing it is called business process outsourcing is that some of its functions are contracted to other companies. In the Philippines, the business process outsourcing companies may include manpower agencies and other companies that do the marketing functions, purchasing or accounting for other companies. Hence, we have business process outsourcing and this type refers to onshore outsourcing. There are companies here in the Philippines and I think you know some manpower agencies here.

The Phillippines is a preferred destination for OFFSHORE OUTSOURCING because of its low labor cost and for having a pool of quality workers. That is why some BPO companies from other countries particularly developed ones have put up their businesses here. And I say "business". They engage in outsourcing for profit. To earn profit, businesses must minimize cost but must not sacrifice quality. For-profit businesses are not charitable institutions, I think intelligent people know it man.

Call center is not the only BPO type of business that exists. Medical transcription, finance and accounting outsourcing, human resources, (manpower agencies), marketing and payroll outsourcing are other businesses belonging to the BPO industry.

I would like to make some corrections to my recent post.

The thing it is called business process outsourcing is that the company that is engaged in outsourcing shoulders the risks of doing some functions for other companies. For instance, the role of manpower agency is to provide human resource services for other companies. Manpower agencies may also do payroll outsourcing.

Companies make contracts with call centers to handle customer complaints, inquiries and support. Some firms also hire the service of call centers to do the telemarketing.

When I was in Manila as trainee para sa ilang call center diri sa Cebu... maka ingon jud ko Cebu Call Center Agents Trainee are the Best....
Na shock ang management when they see the statistics comparing Manila Agents.... :mrgreen:

and in fact... 3months pami didto...






But mao lagi... still customer service... wala ghapon challenge bisag i-apil pa ang shift... nindot jud ang work sa field na imo g-graduaran

we might have the competitive edge but..were falling we lack infras and its no no to bpo's and as ive said the rest of asia is catching up.. it's number 2? i doubt again.. its 4th globally as per.. damn i forgot the name of that provider who conducted that research.. though i'm sure i got the info from kaisa konsulting.. anyway, i believe in filipinos and prod to be one.. smart pata sa mga kiwi's..

and i do agree cebu agents are good compared to those manilenias..
