Way back in high school uso pa to ang pen pal - pen pal.
If i'm not mistaken that was 1987 (dugaya na oy ha ha obvious kaayo tiguwang na)

Naa ko'y pen pal sa una i can still recall her name.
Iyang ngalan Duchess M. (di lang nako imention ang family name coz i don't know yet kun advisable ba)

Ang iyang address kay 3 PBN Nivel Hills , Lahug, Cebu City

I think minyo na ni siya karon, ambot unsa na kaha iya apelyido, but i'm hoping basin naa siya mga friends diri nga nakarecognize based on the little details nga ako gihatag, or maybe silingan ba kaha niya sa maong address.

Wa jud ko kakita sa iyaha personal wa sad ko kakita sa picture.

Ang ako lang unta tuyo, at least sa dili pa mi mangamatay makakita ko niya being my pen pal sa una he he.

I tried to search for her sa Yahoo! I got a few results, one of which was a part of a message from her high school Yahoo! Group. I visited their yahoo group, good thing it was not restricted to members only so i had a chance to read the message and i got her email address there. But too bad the email address was already bouncing, so my message was not delivered, then i noticed that the yahoo group message was dated year 2002 pa diay.
At that pont in time i still have no idea kung siya ba gyud ni ang Duchess nga ako gipangita.

I turned my attention to the next search result, a PRC Exam result with her name.
I browsed the list of the examinees who passed the board, Ang lista sa PRC naa man gyud middle name i-apil.
So now i stumbled upon a new clue, her middle name.
Karon nakumpleto na nako iyang pangalan, Duchess Melgar Menchavez.
Upon seeing the middle name I remember that two years ago i had a customer, a certain Dr. Melgar nga nagpahimo nako ug slideshow for her mom's 75th birthday.

So i poured over my old records and found the doctor's business card.
I sent a text message to the doctor, i asked her if she happen to know a certain Duchess Menchavez who's middlename was Melgar.
She replied, "Yes, she's my first cousin".
My heart leaped, i was a bit stunned although im still not sure if this was the Duchess i was searching for.

Then i sent another text message, "Doc, i don't know if this was the one i was searching for a long time, but this cousin of yours does she happen to live at 3 PBN Nivel Hills while she was still a high school student?"

She replied, "Yes".

Please take this slow. I'm sure you have no other intents than to meet her before you die (or something to that effect) however you are getting excited about the whole thing. I'm sure this sounds exciting (i mean the whole searching and meeting thing) but now, you're married and I hope you're not setting yourself up for discontent. you know what im saying?

yes goddess, i have no other intention whatsoever, just pure thrill lang gyud for meeting someone after 20 years.

i did not feel any rush and anticipation for this.

maybe other members here would think that i am expecting to see a very sexy woman, mestiza, and super beautiful. that is not what's in my mind now. i know i am already married but there is no malice behind this, just pure and simple meeting.

isn't it a little bit nice to see somebody whom you have never seen before? and that it took 20 years for you to have a chance to meet her in person with a few unexpected people linking you to her?

you know, bisan pa tingali nga nagkataon nga lalaki ni si Duchess the same thrill lang gihapon because it is purely for friendship sake.

after i sent my text message to dr. melgar last night i did not even ask her kun naa ba siya celphone number ni duchess because i don't want to submerge myself into this. i'm taking it lightly and calmly.

i have a son now, and i know duchess maybe married aready but this is not a dating game so there is no going in that direction.
