    ok:

    16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
    17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
    Matthew 3:16-17

    so in these verse Jesus was in the water and the GOd was in heaven and Spirit of God lighting upon him.

    @rc

    mas klaro kon mag binisaya ka bai.

    maau unta kon ang tanang tao pariha nimo nga ang tan-aw sa "thus" kay "does". heheh kahinumdom lang ko sa imong previous post nga ang word nga "taga" pwede ra "kada"

    pero kon mag ininglis man lang gani ka, ayaw pulihi ang "does" ug "thus" kay dili na sila synonym. kaila man kaha ka ug synonym?

    dili ikaw rc ang big mistake kon dili ang imong choice of word ang big mistake kay dili na masabtan ang meaning ug dili mao ang word nga imong gi gamit.

    ug dili na masabtan, dili mo make sense.

    ug dili mo make sense, daghan maglibog

    ug daghan maglibog, daghan mga pangutana ug mo correction

    ug dili ka pa correction , ...........

    Jesus was the Son of man because he manifest into flesh.
    Pero makabasa baka "Christ was the Son of man"?

    Joseph was His foster Father.

    @rcruman

    You're disappointing me. I thought you were the 'well-versed' here. Do you mean you don't know that Jesus Christ was often addressed and referred to as the 'Son of Man' in the Bible? Serious?

    And I'm particularly surprised with this:
    Jesus was the Son of man because he manifest into flesh.
    Now how can he be the 'Son of Man' because he 'manifested into the flesh'? Are you going to give me another cooked up interpretation of this? Are you going to tell me that since Mary belongs to the human race 'thus' it makes Jesus Christ as 'the Son of Man'? Is this enough reason for you to address him as such? Don't you know that in olden times for example the Sermon on the Mount where there were over 3000 people present, that that figure only counted the men? Does that give you any hint?

    Think of something else rc. You can do it. I tell you, there is a much much deeper meaning why he was addressed as 'the Son of Man'.

    PEace!

    OT: sorry guys, can't help it. comedy na nuon ni dri. hehehe...

    Found this somewhere though:
    "Jesus is the Messiah and that He is truly a human being." - that is why He is called the Son of Man.

    If the topic may be limited to why Jesus often refers to Himself as "Son of Man", a candidate reason for this is that it happens to be the custom of their day to politely refer to one's self as "son of man".

    In analogy to Tagalog, a host usually does not refer to himself or herself with an "ako" but with an "ang inyong abang lingkod".

    To quote from an online Jewish dictionary:

    'The term "ben adam" is merely a cumbersome but solemn and formal substitute for the personal pronoun, such substitution being due, perhaps, to the influence of Assyro-Babylonian usage (see Delitzsch, "Wörterbuch," s.v. "Amelu"; comp. "zir amiluti" in the Babylonian myth concerning Adapa).'

    Note that using the term is described as formal but, solemn. It can be imagined that Jesus uses the term with a serious tone (and could imply that He may have a deeper meaning in mind which, brings us back to the main question as it is...).

    Incidentally, except by Stephen in Acts 7:55 or 56, the phrase "son of man" is only used by Jesus Himself.

    Please note that every time Jesus addressed himself as the 'Son of Man' it was to indicate that he was the one that Daniel and the others prophesied, Daniel 7:13-14. Those verses were famous to the Jews at that time. He was proclaiming to them that he was the Messiah they've waited for.

    Still back to the question...
