@galenostiel, priorities can be "a stop-sign". For such, I suggest that you keep a notepad and pen handy, any spare moment you can get-- lunch, coffee break, or on the drive home-- scribble away. In time, you'd be surprised with what you find in your notepad.

@Reginald, I believe there is nothing much to ponder "grammatically-wise" on childspeak. Just please remember to use simple words and simple sentences for description and action. Great examples of childspeak can be seen in Mother Goose rhymes, fairy tales, fables and songs.

    Example:
Mary had a little lamb, Its fleece was white as snow. Everywhere that Mary went, The lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day, which was against the rules. It made the children laugh and play, to see a lamb at school.

Makikita rin ito sa ating mga alamat at mga bugtong-bugtong.

    Examples:

    I. Binili ko nang mahal, isinabit ko lamang.
II. Isang prinsesang maganda, punong-puno ng mata.
III. Hayan na! Hayan na! Di mo pa makita.

Write first, thinking comes later. The REAL WRITING is found in the RE-WRITING!

perhaps i've become too old to see things from the point of view of a child, much less to describe it.

[color=navy]@gareb please do cheer up bro! Maybe, all you need is a change of perspective or purpose in writing. Here's an idea.

At one point or another, I think that nearly everyone thinks about parenthood (there are some of us who already living it), day-dreaming life as Daddy or Mommy, maybe anticipating the joys and trials that comes with that. Me? I imagine what would it be like for bedtime, what stories I would tell my children or books that I would read for them and how.

For everyone who's having a challenging time in coming up something for the "Project", I would like to suggest that we could approach this in this manner. What is that story, experience, poem, song, advice, prayer, hope that you would like to someday share with your own children and how would you tell it? You have an idea? Write it down!

Because what we're planning to create is not only a book for children but also a book that adults can enjoy as well. A book that can let adults get in touch with their inner child. A book that adults can (or plan to) share and enjoy with their own children.

Please allow me to clarify, everyone here is invited and welcomed to contribute and participate in the "Project" and I do hope that we could get plenty of material by the start of next year however this isn't mandatory Though one may feel challenged and compelled, please don't hold it against oneself if one cannot seem to produce anything for the "Project", because no one will hold it against you. There are other ways one can offer work, help and support to the "Project". I'll explain more in future posts.

I feel that this thread's primary purpose is to help others cultivate their passion for the craft of writing. This "Project" is only a child of that primary purpose, a vehicle in a manner of speaking.

All I can really ask of EVERYONE is to please keep writing, for yourself, for your enjoyment. Stories, essays, poetry, whatever-- as long as you're writing and you're enjoying what you do. And hopefully, you could share whatever pieces or news you're willing to share here.

Anyway, as for me, I have yet to consider what to write for the "Project". I am also considering of participating in the UP Cebu Writers workshop next year so I better have something to submit by the deadline of applications which is November 30.

For the past days or so, I've been writing short scripts for comics in my spare time. I've been in contact with a few artists friends, (helping them nurture their creative aspirations while they live humdrum lives as corporate graphic artists or agents). I've also posted a mini-comic challenge to the Istoryan Comic artists for fun

And I have to catch up on my reading. I have still have to read Von-x! contributions and Reginald's blog (my deepest apologies, dudes) pero kukuha ako ng oras para gawin ito.

Everyone, please do write, enjoy what you write, and let us enjoy what you wrote with you.

For those who are new to the thread and wondering what is this "Project", here is the link:
