My solution: get both (Mac and PC) at home. Problem solved.

I still think mac made the right move moving to Intel processors. Most users of mac are professional designers whether photography, movie editing, record or mixing audio kind of stuff. And what processor that are really best for those kinds of applications? Of course its the intel ones.Originally Posted by butitoy
Since the release of the G5s(the last power PC processor for macs) it is indeed very powerful and fast processor but it is astonishingly a hot and unstable. It uses a single core RISC proessesor which burns any motherboard it touches. Its not even used in Macbooks/portables since it will literraly burn the macbook casing and the processor will fall off the laptop.
A g5 desktop has an aluminum heatsink that is larger than the motherboard itself. when looking insides a G5 you'll see nothing but heatsink for the G5 processor.
Its way too impractical for such a processor to be used in production because of its cost and instability. Not only that almost all applications are optimized for intel processors. Even the new intel processors performace are even better compared to these G5s and way cooler, stable and more flexible.
currently only ibooks are using G4 processors. Newer macbooks with intel based processors(c2ds) are way more faster, cooler and more stable comapred to G4 ibooks. Plus only Intel based macbooks can run most microsoft applications and other apps and it can even run windows xp and Vista while the G4s cannot.
Even newer G6 macpro desktop are 8 core based intel processor. Neat.

just wondering...
can it ran my old and forever starcarft?.
hehehe.
and sakto bro. they made the right choice in moving to the intel side of the fence.
Hmmm, never meant for this to become a debate.
Mac is an awesome piece of hardware for people who have use for it. Great design, a multimedia behemoth. All parts were studies and tested to fit almost perfectly. Hence, your are buying a single computer appliance with Semi-limited PC upgradability. And it just works.
PC, my second wife, is for those who love the "Computer" in general, theres just so much more you can do with it in terms of Hardware and software but along with that comes the headaches and challenges of fixing it yourself. But if you dont tinker with it that much you can still have the same functionality of what a MAC can do with no headaches.
So, to conclude, yes, it would be good to have both.
Yup i agree. I like PC better but macs are undeniably interesting computers.
hahahaha!!!!
