i'll check the link out.
LCD has more crisp colors for me and longer life Span. In Japan, LCD is killing plasma.
HTPC
You dont really need a high end processor but if you can afford one then your HTPC can be a gaming rig as well
Sempron will do.
Get a good Video Card (DVI Connection is a must and make sure the LCD or PLasma or Projection TV or Projector tha you get has DVI in, they mostly do better to double check)
I recommend an ATI all in wonder with the ATI Media Center Remote Control.
Get a Good Sound Card nga 8.1
512MB mem will do.
Wireless KB and Mouse.
Lots of HDs if you want to collect Divx or any other file but if your planning to watch off your PC DVD player then no need for a big HD.
And of course, an HTPC casingor a barebone casing.
@ryan: WOW! That's cool! bro, can you pm me a quotation for the CPU? with all its specs that u have just mentioned? It doesn't mean na mga highend na cards gyud ang i.include sa package. Just the average as long as it could host a good movie.
Does anybody from istorya knows the average lifespan of a plasma? basin ma dead ni cya 10yrs after purchased. (simbako)
The amount you'll be saving for getting plasma won't be enough to sacrifice the longevity of your displayLCD nalang or Projector bai
Nakaduwa ko ug Half Life 2 & NFS:U2 w/ a projector into a 1-storey high na screen i never wanted to get flat panels again heheheh

LCD Projector: Infocus or Panasonic. Make sure it has composite video input for the DVD player. 100-150K.
DVD Player: Pioneer DV-578A-S Universal DVD Player. It can play DVD-A, DVD-Video, SACD, etc. Around 15K
Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR801 7.1 Receiver. Around 30K
Speakers: (4) NHT SB1 for front and surround. (1) NHT SC1 for center channel. NHT SW10ii subwoofer. Around 75K.
Then get a good rack and speaker stands and don't forget speaker cables and interconnects. All of these are available locally. Maybe not in Cebu but definitely here in Manila. Ayo-ayo! hope nakatabang ko.

So you're going for Onkyo?
@markyap: m going to circuit city next week to check that out.
ryt now i'm confuse between the Soundroom's 42" TOSHIBA (190k) and the Creative Studio's SAMSUNG (199k w/ freebies) . They both have their pros and cons man gud.
G.dump na nako ang LG coz of its rumored low quality. Although cheapest siya among the rest which is (175k w/ freebies).
