Bro, can you post link that MS has completely fixed the 3RL problem? AFAIK even 360's with latest manufacturing dates are still prone to 3RLOD. There was even a forum that showed a 3RL'ed Elite.

MS has switched to a 65nm proc on the ELite and Halo edition but the real problem was the to much heat generated by the GPU causing the mobo to flex and lossen the solders either on the CPU, GPU, RAM etc...The only known solution that have worked provided by third party is the X-clamp method... others have also modified the cooling and replace the fans...but still these are not a 100 % guarantee fix for the 3RLOD.

There has been a rumor that a new 360 with built in HD DVD might be available. Maybe this will have a better/thicker mobo and a better cooling system and hopefuly fixed the dreaded 3RLOD plaque....This is just a rumor and no confirmation from MS yet (typical) so let's just kaap our fingers crossed.

Not all Elites made have the Falcon chip. The earlier ones made still had the old 90nm. But yeah, MS has quietly implemented the 65nm chips to the new manufactured 360s. As you said, the Halo3 Edition was the first ones spotted with them and we can guarantee that they'll continue using them for the Elites, and the new HDMI enabled Premium and the Arcade SKU (previously the Core).

The X-clamp method is an interesting solution but MS has taken the initiative and added an extra heatsink to stabilize the RROD errors. They've done this just before announcing the extended 3yr warranty on the 3RL problem.

Toshiba has denied the rumors bout them working with MS for this said HD DVD enabled 360. But yeah who knows.
