I think that once in a lifetime you need to visit Ukraine. As the views there are stunning, nature and air are captured. Recently came from the wonderful city of Kiev. It was a legendary journey, I walked a lot, in the square-enjoying the views and architecture. My sister and I have been to a lot of places, but over the past 7-8 years I would call a trip to Altai Territory the most memorable one We went to Chemal, it is one of the tourist centers there. If you came to Chemal, be sure to visit Patmos Island. Climb up to the island on the "goat trail", which begins from the Chemal hydroelectric power station. Here are wonderful views of the mountains and the Turquoise Katun flowing down. It is possible to pass even with children. I climbed this trail twice. The only thing is that in summer the Katun is not "turquoise"... But it is such a trifle... Nature is fascinating!
The new suspension bridge over the Katun to the island was built, not that it was 7-8 years ago... Be sure to look into the Church of St. John the Theologian. Icons in the temple are ancient... One of them has suffered a fire, the other one just recently secreted myrrh... The place is holy... But a trip to the Altai Territory is not a pleasure from the cheap.
