me too! spent the best part of my life (high school years) in Cebu, mid 80's to mid 90's until my family needed to migrate back to Manila. I can still remember when Penshoppe was launched and Y101 got calls from an angry city health engineer coz they had a horse in the (Cebu Plaza) pool, and there were nuns, or maybe girls dressed as nuns attending the launch party. Dunno if all of it were true or just plain gimmick. Yup, no other radio station for me since then. Got hooked on so-called "new age" music (just the music, not the cult) due to their program, what's it called nga? loved Tears For Fears, Depeche Mode in New Music Sessions, and got into the local band scene coz of the Johny K's Local Ground, local vocal, loud and proud. yes, I can say it was the golden age of Cebu Music. All because of Y101.

Years went by and in 2005, had the chance of going back to Cebu due to work and guess what?! The moment I got in the cab at the airport, first thing I asked the driver was to tune his radio to Y101 and it felt like I got into a time machine and went back to 1990. The station ID, stingers, the Y101 vibe, of course now they have new jocks and hit songs. Really missed Johny K's and Jack the Wack's voices though. Noticed that A LOT have changed in Cebu with all the developments, but it's still the same muzik vibe I've enjoyed way back high school days. Long live Y101!
