These are two distinct management systems where what happens when the plane gets in deep sheet

Airbus: The computer takes over and will not hand back control to the pilot.
Boeing: When it gets into deep sheet , it hands control to the pilot.

When an AirBus plane went down in Brazil, the sensor for the speed is iced over and gave incorrect readings,, pilot knew something was wrong, but they couldnt get control of the system because the computer wouldn't let them.

    i could be wrong.

Whether it's an Airbus, Boeing, ATR, Bombardier, etc, the pilot is still the sole command that can take over all the technologies of the aircraft. The crash you mentioned might be the well-known Air France Flight 447 and investigations on that incident actually revealed that the autopilot disengaged because the pitot tubes were not giving reliable airspeed information anymore. So with that, it was actually the computer itself that gave the control over to the pilots, who stalled the plane all the way to the ocean.

It wouldn't make much difference for passengers and kung naa man, it would be how the airline handles passenger service and comfort.
