One of the biggest percentage to cause higher inflation is kaning pag saka sa presyo sa bugas. I'm not following the news consistently, but diba nag import na gani ta og bugas? What might be the reason behind this shortage of rice supply, gi tuyo pud kaha ni sa uban big businesses (to hoard) kay against sila sa current admin or naa jud nagpa luyo ani? Its a fact nga wala man kaayo tay mga recent calamity nga niapekto og dako about rice plantation, naa pa man ghapon ta population sa existing farmers kay of course mao kaha ni bread and butter nila.

@bogo-ka..why do you consider my post as defending the current admin and blaming the negosyantes? nangutana lang ko based on what I observe, stating my opinion. It doesn't mean i'm in favor of the current admin either im right or wrong.. who cares anyway? Blaming someone does not solve the problem, instead accept it and do something about it? Maybe its better you recommend something we should do to atleast alleviate this hurdle that we're facing. Ha bogoka?

Not everything is a conspiracy "against the admin". Sometimes, incompetence is the best and most logical reason.

Yes it could be, but how do we measure incompetence? Hopefully not based on the outcome lang. Maybe its best for us to share unsay mga diskarte ninyo para maka tipid or is there something we can do about this problem or what the admin and his economist/advisers should do?

Maong ang duda sa administration, we really don't have shortage, it is just the middlemen/traders who are hoarding rice just to take advantage of the rising rice prices. -- ang ilang action is basically to raid warehouses -- mao mabuhat nga immediate.

Ang next plan is to import or flood the market with cheap imported rice para ma ahat ang mga traders/middlemen to sell their hoard at a lower cost.

Well and good, however, ang mo suffer na pud is ang local farmers nato, kay mo compete naman pud ang cheap imported rice sa atong local farmers.

Hence, it comes full circle to the government, specifically, the NFA, Ang chairman sa NFA si Aquino, I don't know the full name, which I don't care much to research. , nag labad ang ulo ug unsaon pag convince sa NFA council, kay ang final approval is sa NFA council raman pud diay kung ganahan ka mag import ug rice. This eventually lead to the slow response sa kani nga prevailing problem.

Naay inquiry ngano man nga nag kaproblema man ta sa stocks sa NFA nga billions man ang budget nga gi approve ana every year. In fact, mas taas pa gani ang budget karon nga tuig.

Ang problema diay is since, 1990s or 80s pa ata, kay naay dakong utang ang NFA sa LandBank of the Philippines, and majority of the budget sa NFA rice, is going to Landbank as payment sa dugay na kaayo nga loan.

Balik ta inflation... I'll take my argument on the positive note nga ang kang Gloria sa una nag ka inflation pud siya ug 6.6, and media was all over it including the opposition, as if the world was ending. In a matter of 3 months na solve ra niya na curve down to bare minimums.

If you would notice, the media would always highlight nga it's a 9-YEAR LOW.... ngano diay ug 9 year low diha sa 9 years nimo i bench mark ang inflation?

Where we a country that only existed 9 years ago? If imo tanawon we have been through worse.

Mo insist man ang DA bro nga wala tay problema or shortage sa rice, it is just ang hoarders ang naay problema.

I don't know much ug asa kutob ang function sa DA, kung pwede bana sila mo sanction sa mga hoarders, dili mo baligya kay gi hoard para mo saka ang presyo inig baligya sa mga hoarders ngadto sa market.

Murag ingon ani ba, ang imong trabaho is to make sure there is adequate supply ug bread sa market. So you make preparation and plan for the raw materials aning bread. You estimated and reported, ok na, ready na tanan, nahatag na nako tanan avenue para maka himo na ug bread ang mga bakeshop.

Only to find out nga walay naghimo ug bread.. gi suta nimo, naay bread sila gipanghimo ang mga bakeshop pero dili sila mobaligya, kay ilang gi pugngan kay nag paabot sa pagsaka sa presyo.
