Kini cya ang angay ninyong pangutan.on. hehe..

I'm also learning pfSense. Wala pa lang naku na implement kay daghan pag kuwang nga resources.

Hopefully Sir AMD, maka tabang ka namu puhon sa among mga pangutana. hehe..

As for me man gud Sir, usahay kining akong ma research bahin pfSense kay dli naku kasabot. hehe..

Anyway, ang gi gamitan ra man sad naku sa pfSense puhon as of the moment kay for guest log-in lang cya. I just need to activate Guest Portal Log-in Page. Also sa bandwidth limit per user.

mo post ko balik dri kung ni work ba akong config or not.

Naa lang koy question as of now.

1. Ang pag limit sa bandwidth is it per user or per device?

For example I set 1Mbps for User Account 1 and this User Account 1 have 3 or 5 devices, does it mean nga all 3 or 5 devices will share 1Mbps bandwidth or 1Mbps each device using User Account 1?

2. VLANs - Possible ba kaha ni sa pfSense nga config?

Example:
VLAN 1 (guest WIFI user) - Guest Portal Log-in Page; 5 devices per User; 1Mbps shared to 5 devices
VLAN 2 (employee WIFI user) - Employee Portal Log-in Page; 1 User Account shared to all employees; 1Mbps to be shared by all employees connected to this network

Hopefully naay maka tubag. Or basin naa moy laing ika suggest dha nga work around for pfSense? hehe

kana answer nimo sa imo 1 and 2 kay murag pwede ka-ayo na siya sa pfsense, na-a daghan limiting features, search lang.

depends rana unsa gamitan nimo sa imo pfsense, if purely routing lang bah, or with snort and/or squid + etc...
hardware depends also, if you have a good hardware that can virtualize properly, then no problem I guess.

if baremetal install, then good, if to virtualize in a vm, just make it sure that you know what your doing

Question lang..

Nag create kog VLANs sa pfSense

ang Lan interface okay ra man cya. working ang DHCP ug with internet.

ang sa akong VLANs kay working ang DHCP peru walay internet.

Unsa pa man akong i.add nga rule ani sa firewall or NAT para maka lahos lang internet?

g.introduce ni sa aq amigo nga naa shop...ug gusto naq pud naq apply dria saq, ask lng qqng pde ko k.ask kung or kapangayo ug full guide sa pfsense. salamat., if naa available.

if the purpose para dli mo lag ang games while mgyoutube for me handy cache and ccproxy ang gamiton icascade..very simple setup..hardcore pa kaayu modala ug cache ang handy cache..mga free rman pud na sila na software..no need 2 secure the license kay ka2 limited user ra gamiton..just my humble opinion.

any way, ask lang unta ko pwede ba ni ang PFSense to control 5-PCs?


i mean sa akong gitrabahuan daghan2x mi pero naka-standalone tanan mga PCs ug file sharing lang gigamit ... then wa man gyud mi IT Support Group kay manawag ra man gani mi technicians o sa among supplier if naa mga mga computer problems


ganahan unta ko mugamit PFSense para sa ako lang grupo by assigning static IP address sa 5-PCs arun ma-control nako??

Anyways, be mindful that pfSense has a "VERY DIFFICULT" learning curve, malumos ka sa imong ka-ugalingong sung-go aning kalakiha (pero..., kung mayng laki ka, then..., no problem)

pfSense is a very powerful router/firewall (or being a UTM if you add extensions) capable of doing simple things like assigning static IP's to unbelievable Enterprise features. It can handle 'gazillions' of devices (pc, phone, etc), your hardware is the limiting factor (where pfSense is installed).

pfsense can run in an old computer like P4 even 600Mhz processor, 512mb ram (bigger much better). in our office our pfsense handles more or less 70 devices, wiredlan (pc's), wireless lan(laptop),mobilephones. vlans, proxy server,bandwidth limiter. 2 ISP's for loadbalancing and failover, dhcp (ip address mapping using mac address).
