Default THERE'S GOOD TO THE EVIL OF VIGILANTISM: WHAT'S YOUR TAKE?

But does that reduce the number of crime? ... does it reduce the severity of these crimes? Is the reduction confined to petty criminals? or the criminals that really count? The crime bosses? The pimps? The corruption at it's highest levels?
not necessarily, vern. and i never i said it does or it will.
now, since you agree that vigiliantism helps to reduce the number of criminals, my next question is: is the reduction in the number of criminals not any good to you?

Ok, for me vigilante exist because some people believes that our authority lacks capacity in solving crimes and justice here are for rich people only. Of course it is an evil deeds because it violates the right of a person in defending himself why he do that crime and if he is really guilty of such crime. but sometimes we can gain something from vigilantism Davao for example.

HAHAHA. That's the funniest post I've read this month.

The law is flawed in every angle. Plus with the lapses and corruption of our "beloved" law enforcers, no wonder why people lose their faith in the law. No wonder why these vigilantes have surfaced.

I don't have any problem with these killings. It is simply people thinking they are righting the wrong. Cause and effect. Do you think these vigilantes would still have surfaced if it were not for the skyrocketing crime? I don't think so.

Nothing is perfect. Whine about it or live with it.

Our individual opinions cannot change anything. The people will right the wrong. I believe in the people. They can be stupid sometimes especially in crowds, but in its entirety, the people know when enough is enough. The people can pull plugs anytime--- a power much stronger than the president's.

Cebuanos have mixed feelings about these killings. But I'm pretty sure we'll know when enough is enough.

i used to feel relieved knowing there's someone out there hunting for savages. my initial reaction was, "dah!" but it got me thinking as to what their primary motive really is. it's either their motive is that they want a more peaceful place for the people, or they just plainly love killing. i can't think of a third. if it's the former, they should know killing is not the only way. if it's the former they should roam around the streets posing themselves as secret guardians (not that they should make it obvious) and help those being victimized. help them on the spot that is. the rumor would spread around among the criminals that some people are trying to fight back. that will surely give them something else to think about. but that is just too fantasy-like.

i agree that there is good to the evil of vigilantism but it doesn't rule out the fact that it, too, is unlawful. i hope robin hood rings a bell. if we want to be lawful citizens, vigilantism encouraged by the government must be abolished.

We all know that vigilantes are another set of people trying to imply good thru evil . We all badly need them because our police force and some law enforcement agencies are lame . Its just too bad that such tactics were from the actual leaders of the law enforcers because his/her very men cannot do their jobs .
