Cebu Traffic: Getting more serious

as a 2-wheel/4-wheel user, getting a BRT/LRT/MRT will have me abandon my usual mode of transportation...

but then again, friggin politics is ALWAYS a hindrance...that diño dude made the BRT take a step back...

The only thing that can ease Cebu City traffic right now is to limit using our own personal transportation. Kung naa lang jud lagi ma sakyan saktong public transpo, dili man maka huna2x og palit mga tao ba. Me personally still prefer jeepney. Akong problema ra is dugay maka sakay kay puno na. More and improved public transpo is badly needed. Also, buying a motorcycle to get away the heavy traffic is not a solution but rather personal gain.

Traffic is really at it's worst. We need an effective and convenient mass transportation system.
Yes Dino is a Dinosaur. But now we need more than the BRT. I would suggest make the BRT route multi-purpose by having LRT on top.

Daghan mag protest na establishments due to damage to their establishment's "beautification".
Also, the religious sector/schools are not helping either. Kung pwede palang ampo-an and mawala cge mag dasal 24 hours!

A subway might be a good option from Minglanilla to liloan but its very high cost.., a cheaper one might go for fastboats from liloan to minglanilla or vice versa...if i have a fastcraft, i would try investing one..

Going to lapulapu, cebu city, mandaue, liloan

fast ferries might help a lot..travel time would take 10 to 15 mins from the island..

Coding is not the solution nor a band aid solution. Cebu roads are quiet limited unlike Manila that has so many road networks.

IMO, replace oplok politicians like Rama and Osmena. We need a new breed of leaders in Cebu. We're so used to these names but are they able to fix our problems? We have gotten to a point that our leaders are more busy fighting than solving our problems, busy doing Facebook while ignoring the bigger issues.

Because of political reasons and for political survival, our leaders have a way of rejecting good proposal to fix our transportation because it is not credited to him or something. There's no synergy in our govt and that's always the case if we have a vindictive and hawod mayor.

So many times Cebuanos are fooled by our current leader like Flooding issues, and now BRT? When will that happen? it is not even a fix for our woes. We dont want LRT? Why because its expensive or its not credited to him?

There are many willing private companies who will do a feasibility study and help the city fix its transportation woes but did you see any positive reaction by our leaders? Not so.

The only way to fix our problem is mass transportation, create new road networks, create space for walking and bike lanes. Cebu is a Walkable + Bikeable city, the problem is, Filipinos doesnt like to walk because they dont wanna get tanned or its hot. But ive seen cities built a walkways like in Makati that has shades and that is one of the solution to decrease traffic + bike lanes. Most cities in Europe esp downtown are for walking and closed to traffic and its been effective too.

Gone are the days can Cebuanos say that i hate Manila because its traffic and chaotic, Cebu is at par with Manila. Millions are living in Cebu but the infrastructure and vision of our leaders are nowhere to be seen. So sad realities.

i agree with this. we need to start replacing them with new gen of politicians. mandaue has already started it with quisumbing but i think he is doing quite a good job at mandaue.

for traffic, para nako dako solusyon ang mga express ways. kay lets just say mga delivery trucks nga mo byahe from north to south, kinahanglan pa sila agi sa city. mga dagko mani sila nga mga trucks gud maka cause gyud ni ug traffic. then dapat nice ang public transpo.its time to remove jeepneys. im not saying jeepney's causes traffic.

but if we have a world class buses plying around cebu, kanang aircon then cashless ang payment, daghan mga car owners ang dili na magdala sakyanan oi. kahasol uroy magdala sakyanan bayad paka parking, bayad paka gasolina. imagine if naa ka effective bus system nga on time mo abot then aircon pa. aw walay blema oi.

para nako ang mag dalag traffic kanang mga driver nga walay patience to wait for their turn ug dili kahibaw mu position sa ilang sakyanan if moliko. Mag-abot tanan sa bottle neck kay mag unhanay, nya ang 1 lane lang mahimong 3 lanes jud. If moliko dili jud magpadaplin kung asa cla muliko mao imbes smooth na unta ang dagan sa traffic magkalangan na nuon.

well mao man gud na misconception between bus ug jeep. ang argument sa uban pud kay dili ang jeep maka cause og trapik. ang ilang perspective gud kay ang sa volume raman sa car. daghan factors nga mas maayo ang bus specifically kanang MyBus nga type of transport.

ako point gud is ang usa ka bus, i think maka accomodate at least 2 ka jeep ang pasahero. so sa duha ka jeep, usa nalang ka bus. so sa duha ka jeep usa nalang ka bus ana.oh diba makuhaan na.

now akong main point is if aircon ang bus, then sarado, then cashless, kaning mga private car owners, mas maganahan na sila musakay sa atong bus oi. diba?

sa kanang mga car owners oh mas nice musakay ug bus nga aircon oi.labi na if pakapinan wifi. ka nice gyud. kapoy kaayo mag drive oi labi na manual then ngita paka parking bayad pa parking mahal au di pa secure imo car.hehe.

if ang kaning mga private car owners kay musakay sa atong nice kaayo nga bus. aw so makuhaan ang volume sa mga private cars. oh ayus kaayo.
