this was the same reasoning when mactan before was not connected by bridge. common sense man jud na nga kinsa tong nag operate ug water transport between islands ma wa jud sa "passing" basta naa nay taytayan. but you cannot hold hostage progress just to make the boat operators happy.

kaniadto sa wa pai taytayan ang mactan, it was nothing. karon unsa naman ang mactan? if we can replicate the same with improved strategy on bohol, where would Bohol be in the next 30 years to come? it has a large expanse of good wide areas for development. puede ka mag himo ug back up nga international airport diha sa northern part or close to where the resorts are. industrial areas can be set up. IT parks can be built to decongest Cebu. and so on and so forth...

until now puro ra ta haka haka. we are just hoping for the best. what marcos did with samar-leyte bridge is not so difficult to execute nowadays if our current brand of politicians has the same caliber of Marcos. paglingkud ni Penoy, gi presenta niya kini nga plano pero unsai gitubag sa abnoy? "this is very ambitious". unya wai gihimo. had he built the friendship bridge as soon as possible that time, it would have made already a lasting impact to our present economy ug mahinumduman unta siya sa mga tawo sa visayas sa iyang na achieved.

duna man bitaw giingon nga "if there's a will, there's a way" but the problem,,, the abnoy, didn't have the will to do it. why? siguro sa hunahuna niya, he will become a Marcos clone. siguro ug sya pasultihon,,,"sus, panumpai ug mga isla... mora na ta ug si Marcos ana".
who's idea was to link cebu and mactan? dili kang marcos... si serging... ang papa ni santo tomas de osmena ang nindot kaayo ug idea. but because he can no longer do it and marcos became aware of the good plan, he implemented it. so credit gihapon ni serging. the good thing with marcos is he will select the "good flowers from the garden and put it in a nice vase".

fully agree... ug dili lang unta ang economy ang maka benefit but most of all, the lives of the people. we study, find jobs, work, build families and aspire to make our lives easier and enjoyable. and yes... bridges make lives easier and enjoyable. mactan, because of the bridge, has become an economic engine. ug di lang sa pang trabaho, you can also enjoy and relax. Now imagine another island... a bigger island... BOHOL you can connect to.
