With such significant increase in fare prices, why not just eradicate all of those jeepneys and replace them with bus (MyBus type) wherein it could fit a number of people sitting and even standing, with timed departure and arrivals as well as designated bus stops. Doesnt need to be airconditioned tanan (take a look at the buses plying Bangkok).
People dont need to sit to arrive at their destinations, nangapyot ug nag sit-in-the-air naman gani ang uban para lang makasakay.. plus imagine the hassle experienced by the people going home late at night wherein wala nay mu byahe na jeepney driver.
We dont need 'modern' jeepneys, we need an overall reform in our public transport system.
