Default THERE'S GOOD TO THE EVIL OF VIGILANTISM: WHAT'S YOUR TAKE?

    viglilante killing is evil.
it's against the law. it's against morals.

but there's one good that this evil brings.
if it helps eliminate one criminal evil,
it helps society to have one evil less in its midst.

its now evil fighting against another evil.
and in the clash of demons, a demon is sure to fall.
and society sure to have a lesser number of their kind.

is the clash between evil and evil, in itself, morally good?
so, suporta na lang ta sa vigilante killings dinhi karon, o dili?

Default THERE'S GOOD TO THE EVIL OF VIGILANTISM: WHAT'S YOUR TAKE?

This is the last time I'm going to let Topic Titles in ALL CAPS slide.

When has crime ever been an effective way to combat crime? Criminals judging criminals? Hah! The law exists for a reason. No poetic justification of "evil destroying evil" ala Chronnicles of Riddick makes one crime acceptable over another.

true sir, but the fact remains that it helps reduce the number of criminals nontheless.

vigilantism reduces the number of criminals, but not necessarily eliminates the crime, if i may clarify.

It helped eliminate crime? So ... months after all the vigilante killings started ... I ask you ...

Has it stopped crime? Has crime been eliminated? Has it even curtailed crime? If so ... where are your numbers? your studies that support this? A tally in the papers of the number of people killed is not proof that it is working. It only proves the number of crimes done in the name of "eliminating crime".

    A quote! A quote I say!

"Why do we kill people who are killing people to show that killing people is wrong?"

It reduces the population ... yes ... but criminals? Where is the due process? Where is punishment befitting the crime? Arguing that "these are repeat offenders" as people will inevitably get into is moot. We have jails because the law belives people can be reformed. We have learned from history that taking the law into individual hands is NEVER an answer to a bigger problem. Vigilante killings is a step backwards, not forward. Another quote I say! ...

"To overcome evil with good is good, to resist evil with evil is evil."

If I wanted to lock it. I would lock it. Don't tell us what to do. If you have nothing to add, shut up. The other thread was a general topic that asks people a simple yes/no question.

wow. i have nothing against you Mr. VERN but since u started this... why don't you do some searching. You do know how to search right? that's what most moderators have been telling us. There are already threads about Vigilante/Vigilantism. And i know that for a fact.

don't be so trigger happy dude. oh.. you want me to add something? ok. GET REAL. who told you that vigilantism can stop crime? nor eliminated? you are so idealistic you think you know the real situation here in the Phils. why don't you live here and feel reality?

c'mon... u can do better than telling us what's right to do. we all know that. nothing new with ur posts.

u r not the only moderator here Mr. VERN. i've been observing this forum and it's true that there's a moderator who well.. doesn't like redundant topics. so what's your problem?

vern, actually i agree with you practically on all the points you raised. but when you said -
It reduces the population ... yes ... but criminals?
do you agree that the elimination of one criminal element mathematically reduces the number of criminals?
