Need your input guys. I never thought that nga kinahanglan ug super nindot nga proc ang video editing.
I'm using Adobe Premier Pro 2017 and mao ni akong build.
mobo: GA-H81-D3
proc: i5 4460
gpu: rx 480
ram: 8gb ram
hdd: 1tb wd black
Based on my research, i5 is not really ideal for video editing compared to i7. So kinahanglan ko sa inyong input ug unsay nindot processor nga ipuli sa akong i5 (i don't mind upgrading my mobo if necessary). Lag kaayo ang i5. Like dli ko kaplay sa akong giedit nga vid.
Would you recommend AMD (mas barato hehe)? If so, please give me the specs

Pretty sure sufficient man ang i5 for editing. Used one myself. Even i3's if dili jud ka ana ka maselan.
Para lang sa ako kuhaon jud ang load sa CPU for the rendering and GPU for playback, and display. If ako lang, would switch the 480 for a 1060. Mas komportable ko sa CUDA kesa OpenCL. Then maybe add another 8gb ram.
Take this with a grain of salt. I came from a 280x tapos nag 1060 na karon. Dako kaayo difference para sa ko since I edit almost all of the time.

for video composition/editing the 280X is superior, just because most dev utilized CUDA doesnt mean its better. also 280X was released 2013 lol.

if your apps will utilize more CPU cores, then get as many CPU cores as you can... check Ryzen benchmark on video editing kun ok ra ba... i7 on intel side and its equivalent Xeons kay ok kayo sa ani na work load...
ako, i had used a heavily OC'ed i5-2550K, i3-2120, i5-3570, i7-3770 (non-K) and Xeon E3-1230V2 and AMD FX-6300 on video editing... i3, kamang... FX-6300 (performance is near the i5 on video editing as well as video transcoding on handbrake)... the i7-3770 and Xeon E3-1230V2 is best on Video editing... mem gamit nko sa mga PCs kay 8 and 16 GB... apps used were Adobe Premiere Pro and Cyberlink Power Director 15 Ultra...
GPU used... HD7770 and R9-270x on AMD's side... GT 730 (Kepler), GT 640 (Kepler), GTX 650, GTX 750 Ti, GTX 670 on Nvidia's side

Hmm really? Unsay software nimo boss? My rx 480 does the job really well. I'm monitoring my pc's performance while editing and mafull load jd akong proc. And akong gpu kay halos dli katunga ang magamit. And you're right, I need to add another 8bg of ram at least. Originally Posted by hexovette

sa akong rig ng i5 2550K not OC'ed "kay akong MOBO nga maka OC kay namatay, gelubong na", kung mag encode kog 4k 60fps video morag mamatay ko sa kuryente 3-days to 1 week depende sa length sa video.
