    Pwedi sad ang Raspberry Pi.

Ang main concept is himuon nimung Gateway ang Raspberry or Arduino nya gateway to cloud na dayun

Nag-experiment ko ug IoT. Akong platform na gigamit kay MS-IoT with optional Azure backend.
Puwede nimo ma-integrate voice commands like "turn on the lights!!!". Last year, ang akong project was using an arduino uno. Ang mu-control ug mu-process sa commands kay ang windowsphone, ang naa lang sa arduino kay firmata ug naka-connect siya sa HC5 bluetooth and a 4-channel relay to control 4 220V appliances. Ang windowsphone ang mu process sa voice commands and send it via bluetooth to the arduino which turns on or off one or more of the 4 channel relays.

    See Virtual Shields Arduino
    See Windows Remote Arduino

I was planning on making more complicated stuff pero I switched to raspberry pi 2 with wifi kay lisod kaayo ug unreliable ang bluetooth para sa arduino. With RP2 running MS-Iot Core, dili na ang windowsphone or windows 10 pc ang mag-process, ang rp2 na mismo ang puwedeng himuong headless device with your phone and PC acting as a Human interface device ( it's just showing the interface, the actual processing is done by the rp2 )

    See: Windows Iot Core

Just Yesterday, Visual Studio 2017 was released na naay .net core which would make any Universal windows apps made with it not just deployable to windows 10 PCs, phones, xbox, and hololens, but also MS-IoT devices. So mas-dali, develop once, deploy everywhere.

I'll post pictures sometime this week.

Nice Bro, Have you tried those several Protocols like Zwave or JeNet or Zigbee?

I have a platform which uses Zigbee in a star mesh configuration using 802.15.4 protocol. The sensor nodes are endpoints that collects soil humidity, temperature and luminance values. The nodes publishes this information every hour and send the data to a Zigbee coordinator connected to my K64F microcontroller. The K64F microcontroller also acts as a gateway to an MQTT broker (mosquitto) on the cloud. Pinaka-importante ani nga feature is that my K64F controller connects to the internet MQTT using secure SSL/TLS protocol. Nag gamit ko ug Mbed TLS and Mbed OS to implement this functionality. Unlike most client MQTT connections that are unsecure (port 1883), using this setup pwede na nimo ma skip ang intermediate server to secure your connections to the cloud/internet.

On the server side, the MQTT broker choosen was mosquitto MQTT running on my VPS (Centos 7). I've also created a node.js app which subscribes to MQTT messages and stores those messages to a mariadb database. Importante nga dunay persistent storage for information, so that you can query the published data later for analytics. Sa front-end, I've created a web app and an android application to view the data gathered from my sensor nodes in real-time (mqtt) and to query historical data.

There was also and added control feature, where you can press a button on the web app/android app that controls a sprinkler switch connected to the sensor node.

My web app is still running on this address https://www.mbedhacks.com/Garden/ --- The website uses http basic authentication - username/password = "tinong/tatay" for testing.

You can get the source code for this project on my git : https://github.com/vpcola/MQTTGateway.git/

I think wala pa nako ma dismantle ang hardware for this setup. I'll try to post a video on how this works later.

up ani nga thread , nindot!

Im looking now for some IoT chips in the market, basig naay nakabaw unsay mga nindot nga brands/model.

    requirements : low power, Wifi

    so far ako nakita is:
    u-blox
    photon by particle
    esp32 by espressif

arduino and raspberry is overkill sa amo requirement so pass sa.

there is just one problem.. it relies on a 3rd party network that can be easily affected by nature...

So bisan ug wlay internet ang tag.iya, monitored gihapon ni niya 24-7 without a miss. Ideal if ma.set ang notifications, kay naa may stocks nga ang ilang growth kay dpende sa behavior sa mga buyer - which is sometimes predictable sa pattern sa charts.
Complicated ni nga idea i.implement, But if mugana ni, and matarong nmu ug advertise & baligya, for sure, madato sad ka ani pag-ayo. Desperate nang mga dato mu-dato ug samot, so for sure, mupalit jud sila ani kay wla man ni sa market.
