@kenopause02, i guess si @istoryamember is a trader, correct me if I'm wrong. He's posting are updates and/or movements on the market...I guess, he would not really say that you buy this and or you buy that stocks... that's how I understand it. Nobody will recommend but they can suggest at your own risk.

What they, long time traders, would suggest is for you to read and study about stock market. Join seminars and or trainings in your area....ako, newbie pa pud ko...investor. And if you ask me, I buy blue chip companies for long term investments. But I'm also slowly learning and observing how traders do their thing. hehehe.. it's exciting at the same time kulba. Again, make sure you study the background of the companies that you are planning to buy stocks from.

    Just my two cents.

First things first, open an online account with Col Financial (COL Financial - Philippines) or other online brokers like BPI Trade, Metrsec, UTrade and the like...daghan kaayo na sila. But before you do that, make sure pud daw nga you study how stock market works. There are a lot of articles that you can read about stock market. As in, daghan gyud kaayo, bai. But again, it all boils down to your "own instincts" kung unsa nindot nga stocks paliton. Para lang na nako ha. I'm no expert since I'm also a newbie in thie field.

By the way, ask yourself, are you going into stock market for long term investment or mag trading (mura ni ug buy and sell for a certain period of time).

hehehe.. good choice bai.. and the best time to start is NOW.. not tomorrow since it will be too late...mao na kasagaran isulti nila...

Anyways, naa naman kaha ka online broker? Metrosec? If yes, then buy stocks that you think are stable for now.. but divide your money wi. For example, if you say that you have 100k on hand, ayaw daw na ipalit ug isa ra ka stocks but you have to divide it to different stocks. Once naa naka stocks, mao na dayon ilang tawag nga portfolio.. now in your portfolio contains different stocks. Some would advised nga palit ka ug stocks equivalent to a certain percentage ra sa imong portfolio value... (don't know sakto ba pag ka explain)...hehehe..

for me to learn more...I attended some workshops/seminar about stock market.. I even joined Truly Rich Club ni Bo Sanchez and they will give you tips on how to start investing..

Pwede ra man nimu ihulog sa mutual fund if dili ka ganahan nga imung duwa-on, pero if ganahan ka somewhat nga naa ka'y imonitor at least 20minutes once a week, then apply for an online broker. I am an experienced trader and I am doing this for a living. Many losses and big wins. But reminding you that stock market is not "risky", it's never been about how you play. But if you are investing take note that it has also a piece of risk if you don't know the future of the company you are investing. Too much for that, I'll provide you a step-by-step guide to start, and I sent you a PM by the way.

    1. Apply for an online broker
    2. Fund your account
    3. Buy a set of stock
    4. Hold | Monitor

    Hope this would help

For technical analysis basics, this site explains well.. just ignore the "forex" word. It's applicable to both stocks and forex.
