bisan pa imo na gamitan antivirus, maheal man tuod nimo but dili mabalik unless kapadagan ka sa regedit...

Solution: No, need of reformatting. I used to maintain pc's and solved that problem. I expect you use windows xp.

    OS: Windows XP
1st: Install adaware. You can find it @ lavasoft.de
2nd: Update the adaware definition file. Download still @ lavasoft.de, the file is in zip format and extract it and replace the defs.ref file on program files/lavasoft/ or to where you installed adaware.
    3rd: Run a full scan.
Note: The steps above are just to remove the registry settings of the virus.
Next step is to remove some of the viruses from the harddrive.
4th step: Update your current antivirus database. If you have mcafee, download the latest sdat file. If you have symantec us liveupdate. Main key, just update your antivirus database. You can use any antivirus that what you think or what your friends think is best. Then run a full scan.
5th step: After removing some of the viruses and malwares restart your pc and login to the local administrator account in safe mode. If you don't know how to do this, then here's how. During the boot process just press F8 and a boot option will show at the screen. Select the safe mode.
6th: After logging in as a local Administrator, delete the infected account and create a new one.
7th: On the run command type regedit. On the registry editor window open HKey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run then on the right side you can see string values that are unique to the loading process of xp like files with dll.vbs, or unkown .exe that runs directly from the root director c: or from the windows\system32\. Delete it.
8th: Same on the 7th step, open on the registry editor HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run delete unknow string value files.
Reason: Within this /run folders, the windows xp will locate and load this string values everytime the windows xp login process occurs unless if the login mode is in safe mode. So, this is the reason why you need to login on a safe mode. But, initially you need to login on the infected account first and do the initial scanning atleast to avoid infections on the local administrator account.
9th: Rescan the harddrive using the adaware first and after that rescan using your antivirus and then restart and open the newly created account and expect the virus or any malwares are gone. If you have a better idea then do it. Everything you think is good is worth your effort.

I use this for years now every time worm virus infect my computer.

In many cases, I was forced to do the hard work curing the computers that are infected because they were with no AV already installed on them at all, yes that's true, many people doesn't know whether their computers need an AV software or not, they don't even know what a computer virus is!

When someone of those ask me for help, I first do an off-line scan & clean.

When I boot the computer, I usually be faced with the same thing every time; the virus made some system restrictions in order to make himself hidden, those restrictions are usually the following :

1 - Disable Ctrl+Alt+Del >> so the user can't see the virus and the other running applications!

2 - Disable Folder Options >> so the user can't set the option to show hidden files!

3 –Disable Regedit >> so the user can't see what is going on in system startup!

Unfortunately, AV Softwares have nothing to do with these restrictions and do nothing to re-enable them!

Until AV softwares come with such tool in their next versions, here, you'll find a tiny tool that does the work for KAV, it Re-enables all what the virus had disabled, and brings every thing back. I designed this tool and published it FOR FREE for every one need to use it!

You can download it here --> RRT or Remove Restrictions Tool
