Thread: 1440p Gaming

  1. #21

NO need to max out the refresh rate of 144hz if the panel has adaptive refresh rate. I'm using both freesync 1080p and gsync 1440p monitors, all i can say is smooth and judder free ang gameplay. (vsync off)

Di ka maka ultra for newer titles with an RX 480. The monitor you chose has a 144hz refresh rate. For you to enjoy that, you need to have at least 144 fps when playing.

Benchmarks for 1440p gaming (GTA V, Ashes of the Singularity, Battlefield, etc):

AMD Radeon RX 480 Ashes, Battlefield 4 & GTA V Results

1070 is the card you should at least settle with. The 480 struggles getting at 60fps on 1440p. If you can't get 144 fps on a 144hz/1440p monitor, di nimo ma enjoy imong kwarta
Dili sya pwede mo gamit ug 1070! Iyang monitor kai FreeSync! Radeon VC rana pwede ang FreeSync!

And yes, NO need to max out your refresh rate kai smooth ra na basta naka "FreeSync". Anything above 70hz refresh rate (in 2D) is indistinguishable to the naked eye. You only need 144hz refresh rate kung naka 3D ka - which no one uses anymore.....La.os na and 3D vision Sakit sab sa ulo/mata for me).

    TS first post....
    MONITOR: BenQ XL2730Z 144Hz 1ms 27" / Asus MG278Q <----- pili-an pa koning duha.

ok ra ni na combination VG248QE 144hz 1080p with gtx 1060. Pwede pud ka mag AOC G2460PF Freesync 144hz 1080p with RX 480 or wait for vega gpus, cheaper ni siya (AOC) compara sa ASUS VG unya with freesync na 35-144hz ang range pwede pa ma lower to 30-144hz.

Comparison TN (AOC) and IPS (ASUS VX239)

Yes, NO need for 144hz (in 2D) basta naka adaptive refresh rate. 100hz is more than enough for 2D with adaptive refresh rate.

    I'm currently using 100Hz, g-sync monitor.

    Marketing ploy nang 144hz g-sync/FreeSync.

    joemz,
get IPS monitor if you can.....lay.o ra nang TN. "Vibrant" ang color sa IPS.

    GTX 1060, 192-bit is okay for 1080p.
FYI -Asus VG248QE is TraceFree technology and different from g-sync. Better get g-sync if you want buttery smooth gameplay or get "FreeSync"
