If by Filipino you meant Tagalog then the two languages/ dialects are quite different from each other. There are some aspects of vocabulary that are similar ( T- tulog: C- tug ) but the entirety would be incomprehensible to a native tagalog speaker. IMO, cebuano is fast paced ( mas labaw na jud kung masuko! ) and "pabundak" and the speakers sound "angry" - or so non- speakers may argue. Talagog has a flowy vibe and speaker talks more slowly. Compared to the tagalog we learn in school, native speakers will have a very distinct accent!! ( depends on the region )
I do suggest that the term filipino be changed to tagalog. Though synonymous, the term filipino is more of combination philippine languages rather than tagalog alone.
