Question, (posted it also on the other thread)

Does AVERAGE PRICE change depending on the market price?
Would you also advise buying more stocks (existing) to bring it to positive?

Before it was green but started to turn red by the end of Oct till now....
But I'm still positive that it will still go up by early next year, though..

Am I doing the right thing? Help!

That is like catching a FALLING KNIFE.....

    You should try short selling.....

    Anyways USD is now 49.89

    Peso will weaken further

    - - - Updated - - -

    With the Peso tumbling....

Foreign denominated loans are becoming more expensive....

Expect real estate firms to take a hit.....

Real estate market is starting to weaken... The domino effect can hit other industries as well

are you referring to FOREX? I don't have a clue about that or just simply buy $$ from somewhere?

No. Average price doesn't change since its the price pertaining to the price/share of the stock you bought plus the transaction fees. Only the market price changes.

It depends on the overall trend of the stock actually. As experienced, its better to average up than to average down. You basically must not add to a losing position.

What stock particularly ang ginarefer nimo boss kung asa ka unta plano mag average down?

    Here's an example:

Let's say, I bought BPIfor 98.88 (10 shares) last Aug. then for how many months, it was just green. But this November, I started again buying 30 shares more but at a rate of 86.XX. So meaning, the average price would not change or matter?

I saw a calculator here before but I forgot who posted it, though. I guess it can also help me understand how to compute the misc fees plus the market price...don't even know if I'm making any sense or sakto ba pag ka explain nako..

    sakto ba sir @noboss?

In that case, your average price will change since you bought a different set of stock price and shares. what i stated in my previous post boss was applicable to one time purchase lang.

sa online broker mo, mag auto calculate lang na if what will be your current average price once you bought new set of shares.
so if BPI its downtrending for now since its an index stock and usually gareflect na sya nga stock sa lihok sa overall index pod.
long term man or dili imo purpose of buying the stock, set your cut loss points pa rin IMO. you don't want to be in a position na losing imo stock for a very long time kay malupig nya imo purpose of earning thru the market. like what's happening to TEL right now. TEL is in downtrend for 2 years already. ang gipalit nimo na shares sa 2007, this year losing ka.

@noboss, i also checked on the chart, it's either oversold (if I got the term, right)... but I'm still positive on the said merchant that it can still recover...(wishful thinking and crossing my fingers)...hehehe.. stay positive man daw.. nag study nako sa charts and hopefully sakto akong interpretation.. self study and research kay wala pako group.

now it's making sense to me. I checked ang chart/historical data sa TEL, alkanseha gyud diay noh if you are still holding on to those stocks.

If I may ask, what's your personal analysis on this? Will it still recover and the market value will go up?
What are the things that affected it that it went down that low as of today? This is still in relation to TEL.
Are you also a trader? I'm tempted to be a trader coz' I find it exciting...

No I do not do FOREX trading

    I buy hard currency.

Anyways still recommend go long on US Dollar.

    When you say over sold...

The PE ratio must drop from let's say 25 to 10 that is oversold....

But if not... You are just catching a falling knife....

Bantay lang sa imo BPI boss kay murag nihimo ug triple top and so far moving averages of prices aren't on our side kay tanan paubos.
I don't do fundamental analysis boss mao na sa technical lang ko gabase pirmi. Wala ko masyado labot sa revenues and reports of companies, more on price action lang jud ko gabase. kay TEL kay nag breakdown man sya sa price supports niya. Murag next major supports are 1200php and 900 areas.

oo boss ga trade ko. and learning still especially karon na bear market kay nindot kaau mga learnings. bear market pero gaearn ta gyapun. ganahan man gud ko himuon ni business for a lifetime mao na invest ko tuon.

you can monitor for the rest of the month other stocks like ALCO, STI, PPC, NIKL, FNI, and LIHC and see how they move compared to your index stock BPI.
