Good morning and 73 sa tanan. Mangayo lang ko ug opinion ninyo. Dili pako familiar sa mga china brands karon. Atm, naa ko baofeng uv5r. Living, working sa province here at my farm in southern leyte, naa dead or blind(?) spots within the property. Especially sa orchard area. I'm looking into upgrading to either the baofeng uv82hp or cignus uv85hp for the higher rf output. Daghan reviews online sa baofeng, pero wala ko ma kita na review sa cignus. I'm hoping naay istoryans with first hand experience sa cignus. Wala ko problem sa baofeng pa register, dawaton ra sa ntc diri.

Based sa reviews online, I'm leaning towards the baofeng because of the dual ptt. Useful for me since I monitor 2 frequencies and use both - farm + workers and the other for the club. But I would like to hear from others regarding cignus.

Btw, feel free to drop by. We are at 145.51 (-1.55). Furthest dx we've logged who visited us was from Cauayan and Cadiz in Negros.

wala ra kaayo kalahian sa cignus ug baofeng/pofung... i have both so far they are at par interms of quality sa build ug finals... cignus is just another OEM being sold by Pofung/Baofeng and rebranded... ang advantage lang sa Cignus kay NTC approved type siya.. then naa silay service center... baofeng is actually accepted sa NTC as long as amateur license... got my baofeng registered recently...

though i like my petite UV3R+ than the Cignus UV-85+ (non HP)... but Cignus is my EDC since toa tana naka program ang mga station sa District 7...

but if nahan kag branded naay mga surplus nga mga motorola ug kenwood nga commercial... pero naa lang mga issue...

Na tanaw na nako ni siya. Pero medyo dako ra siguro ning farm nako para sa bf888. With the uv5r at high power tx, naay areas nga barely readable na ang audio. Basin ang bf888 mas mag lisod. Mixed ang environment diri. Naay times indoors (piggery, poultry, farm house), open field (vegetable area and corn fields, pasture area) or sa orchard kung asa baga kaayo ang cover sa kakahoyan. I'm thinking of setting up a vhf Repeater (or maybe uhf?) diri pang farm use ra to help sa propagation. Daghan naman barato nga cor.

Asa kaha ma recommend ninyo nga shop sa Cebu nga naay mga display mga "gears" pang ham? Mo larga ko to Cebu tonight. Naa pako whole day ugma para mag suroy2x.

Ang kanang mga ht antennas sa cignus, I'm sure dili na accurate ang claimed dbd(i?) gain. Pero ok ra kaha ang swr? Nangita ko ug taas2x nga antenna kaysa stock.

for built-up areas like your farm UHF works better, ... BF-888s is low power so it might not have a longer range, if not get a high power UHF commercial radio....

(naa ra sa AlphaSource)... barato raman ni sila.. i would suggest stay away from cignus antenna... not that its bad... its just the quality is questionable... i have 2 of them... RH771 ug Stubby

Atm, ako gi dala ako ra sad initials, dbg, delta bravo golf. I met Jay ganiha sa alpha source. Naka palit gyud ko ug radiotone rt771. Na lecture(an) ko ni Jay regarding swr sa ht antennas. Maayo gani naa siya swr and gi test gyud ngadto on the spot. I'm planning to buy atong swr. Tag P1900 ra and mura ra anang linear amp nga gagmay. 3 watts ra ang rf output sa uv5r. Hehe. Mura ra diay ni sa akong karaan nga icom ic02at. Ako bucket list ngadto kay kadtong swr meter, yaesu ft60R, and a new backpack sa maxpedition. Mag tumba sa ko ug baka ani sa farm para maa afford.
