For those who don't know yet, there is already a vaccine out for cervical cancer. This cancer is now ranked 3rd in the Philippines and I've heard it hurts really bad. The suffering is very painful daw...

I had my shot on the 9th and I'm still bruised! It stung a bit but not so bad. The next one is after 2 months then 4 months. Right now it's free in Aust. It's still important to have regular pap smears.

oh my. my oB just told me she'll schedule me this dec. cos my family has generations of cancer. my mom died of cancer actually. i hope it's not as bad as i think it is. does it really hurt that bad?

the vaccine is recommended for very young girls, as young as 9-12 yrs old to give their body some sort of immunity to HPV. pero pwede gihapon up to age 26 BUT its only going to block HPV types that you have not been exposed before. so if you already had some HPV infection then the vaccine is not going to do much for you.

thats why this vaccine works best for young girls who are not yet sexually active. regular pap test is still strongly advised. even though a big percentage of cervical cancer is caused by HPV, not all cervical cancer is caused by it so this vaccine is not a 100% protection from the disease.

mine cost about 6K per vaccine... but when u think about it savings baya na on your part coz is 100% sure nga dili jud ka maka kuha sa virus nga mag cause sa cancer-cevical ha..not all man sad... when u calculate it mas dako imo ma save if pa vaccine compared na ma kuha nimo ang cancer... gamay ra 100K nimo guro...

from what i've read they're still not sure if the vaccine protects you over a lifetime... they reckon its aout 10 years lng... still its a good thing to do.

There is an issue whether or not it would be sending young daughters the wrong signals. Parents are afraid their daughters would think it is okay to have *** because they have 'protection.' Anyway I personally think this is a great idea.
