Jueteng, do you agree in legalizing it?

i dont agree in legalizing jueting!...the Filipino people should be discouraged with any form of gambling, since it will not do any good in uplifting our mediocre living esp to those who are misfortunate citizens in our society...instead of legalizing gambling, why not the government make a program in promoting small livelihood among our poor citizens?...in such a way that they will be taught in earning money in a decent and productive way!

If that is the logic to be followed, then everything bad for the people should be illegal.

It depends on what you define as bad:

- alcohol should be banned.
- smoking should be banned.
- lotto, binggo, mahjong, playing cards, casinos should be banned.
- the horse races should be banned.
- cock fighting should be banned.
- any kind of betting should be banned.

what is the situation with the above?
Mostly legal, regulated, taxed.

There is nothing wrong with it when you make something out it , something like it would be beneficial but again .... taxing it is shady kay masangit gyud ug what I meant was like as example,let PAGCOR monitor and take charge of it ..... as long as naay guidelines . Bai JAI ALAI is MASIAO but MASIAO is totally different from JAI ALAI ... something like that .

Why not again Hehehe look at LAS VEGAS now .... look how is the most BOOMING CITY right now of the USA .... hookers are being taxed because they are generating so much but as long as there will be guidelines like health cards from the health dept , protections etc .

Again I am not PRO JUETENG but if we know that these issues are like rampant diseases ... then why not just make good use out of them .

I suggest legalizing jueteng so the government can have a share of the profits. You will not be able to stop it.

It is just like prohibiting alcohol. The USA tried to prohibit that and failed.

Casinos may be banned from the Philippines. That is easy to implement. What other countries do, is they allow only foreigners to gamble in their casinos.

Prohibiting jueteng is not possible. Regulation is doable.

it's true it will add moolahs to the govs coffers but legalizing jueting can have a bad impact in our society, you are encouraging the poor citizens to engage in a game of chances as a means of livelihood..on the other hand, isn't it absurd that the Arroyo government will submit to the legalization of jueting when at one time this is one reason why ERAP's term was ill-fated and that made her to the presidency?.......

u can't directly compare alcohol with gambling in terms of its impact in the society specifically when it comes to the whole strata..alcohol's bad impact can be attributed only to a handful of individuals while jueting on the other hand involves all citizenry, mostly in the mediocre sector where they can easily resort to gambling as a means of living...

Prohibiting jueteng is not possible. Regulation is doable.
