RX 470 and RX 460 announced

Not much info regarding these two cards except for speculations that the 470 will most likely be a cut-down Polaris 10 with a 110w tdp. Lisa Su did indicate the 460 will have a <75w tdp so most likely 460 is Polaris 11. Current card that matches Polaris 11 in terms of specs is the R7-370 which also has 16 CUs and 2tflops of processing power. With higher clocks not to mention optimization on the archi itself, the RX 460 can be right around GTX 960/R9-380 performance.

New leaked performance slides just came out



that puts the RX 470 right around R9-290 performance. IT seems TDP will most likely be 110w as well. The RX480M in the slide I believe is the full Polaris 11. But since it's been known at least for AMD based gpus, that laptops based gpus are underclocked to fit in to the laptops tdp limit, so the RX 480M could be slower than it's desktop equivalent, the RX 460.

All early retail RX 480 4GB cards are actually rebadged RX 480 8GB models with a 4GB sticker slapped on the box. We were able to confirm this on our very own retail XFX RX 480 4GB card that we bought from newegg. Following our discovery a couple of days ago of 8GB Samsung GDDR5 memory chips on the PCB of our card we decided to look more into it. As it turns out our RX 480 4GB card wasn’t only an 8GB card but the actual box said 8GB on it. All be it with an RX 480 4GB badge plastered on.

minus naman siguro ang mga bago ron kay new architecture man. pareho sa rx480 nga more or less gtx970 performance pero one 6pin ra ang psu requirement sa rx480.

RX-480 same efficiency sa GTX 970. Atang-atang mo sa RX-470 murag kani ang best bang for the buck sama sa nahitabo sa mga previous gen; HD7950, HD6950, HD5850 etc. Cut down version siya sa 480 and who knows basin pwede na pud ni ma-unlock. Ang RX-460 murag pareho scenario sa GTX 750ti saona. Mahal, performance not so good, pero grabe ka efficient. Only thing na much sa 460 kumpara sa 750ti craze saona is, amd cards gets better through time. Especially karon hinay hinay na panggawas ang DX12/vulkan games.
