he is talented, as long as he plays smart he can still be a threat, like MJ in his later days na di na kaayo lutaw pero explosive gihapon in a different way.

    hahay... I'm finally back.

    ATL 103
    MIN 77

Al Jefferson had a monster game with 20 points and 15 rebounds but the Hawks foiled it with their balanced attack and won 103-77 in their preseason game. Al Horford is still at his best with 9 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block and 1 steal. I sure hope dili ra preseason ni ilang style.

    DEN 104
    MIL 78

Allen Iverson and Melo had 22 and 16 points, respectively to beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 104-85. Off the bench is Anthony Roberson with 12 points for the Nuggets while "Plastic Man" had 0 points and 2 rebounds.

MANILA, Philippines—So what’s going to happen in the upcoming NBA season? Read on and find out. Just give me license to gloat when it turns out I’m right, and space to make excuses when I’m wrong.

    1. How good do I think the Boston Celtics are going to be? They’re this year’s Toronto Raptors, improving on last season’s record by 20 or more games to easily wind up with a .500 or better record.

    2. Danny Ainge will turn the non-guaranteed contracts of Esteban Batista (21 points, 12 rebounds in the FIBA Americas tournament) and Dahntay Jones into guaranteed ones, giving Boston a killer 10-man rotation (Batista, Posey, Jones, House and Tony Allen).

    3. Sure, everyone is saying that one injury will derail this entire train, but you could say that about any team that loses one of its star players. The injuries to Paul Pierce and Ray Allen last season were obviously exaggerated to give their teams a better chance at the Greg Oden sweepstakes.

    4. The New York Knicks are going to be so messed up (wouldn’t you be messed up if your boss was sued for sexual harassment?) that they’re going to get worse, not better.

    5. And Isiah Thomas is going to be so desperate to keep his job that he will pull the trigger on some harebrained trade that will add another gazillion dollars to his payroll.

    6. Lost in the shuffle will be David Lee, who is so desperate for playing time that he’s willing to drop down to the small-forward position. All Knicks fans can do is shake their heads and pray he gets inserted into the starting lineup (which won’t happen).

    7. Is Philly the new Boston? Tons of young talent surround Andre Iguodala but they’re all several years off. Too bad life isn’t like NBA Live; we can’t simulate forward until players like Thaddeus Young and Jason Smith are legit stars.

    8. Swapping Mikki Moore for Jamal Magloire isn’t a step forward, but a shuffle sideways.

    9. If Nenad Kristic can play as well as he did before his injury, that would be a step forward.

    10. Toronto stopped being the Phoenix Suns of the Eastern Conference midway through last season, but odds are they’re going to try to do that again in 2007-08.

    11. Sam Mitchell will have all season to dispel the naysayers who said he was out of his league in the playoffs after being awarded “Coach of the Year.” Step up he will.

    12. Very quietly, the Detroit Pistons have added depth and youth to their team. So goodbye and thanks for the effort, Chris Webber. Hope Dallas is desperate enough for you.

    13. I have already heard whispers that have Lindsay Hunter taking over as head coach for Flip Saunders if the Pistons implode in the playoffs again. Do you hear them, too?

    14. King James + Improved Jump Shot = Just *this* close to unguardable.

    15. Which means “Hack-the-King” and triple teams will be a common sight in Cavaliers games.

    16. Mike Bibby isn’t walking through that door though, Cleveland. It’s gonna be either Varejao or Pavlovic, and shame on you, Danny Ferry!

    17. In retrospect, all those 2005 free-agent signings (Larry Hughes, Damon Jones, Donyell Marshal) were horrible ideas.

    18. Tyrus Thomas will get the starting PF job in Chicago.

    19. Tyrus Thomas will not keep the starting PF job, though.

    20. Tyrus Thomas + Joakim Noah = “Boy is it fun to watch the Chicago Bulls.”

    21. Secret post presence? His name is Aaron Gray.

    22. Is there any team out there that thinks getting Ben Wallace will push their team over the top? The Bulls will gladly take your offer and are willing to go as low as 40 cents to the dollar for expiring contracts.

    23. So long, Chris Duhon. Hello, Jameson Curry.

    24. Indiana’s going to drop all the way from the ninth spot in the East to the cellar.

    25. How much longer until this becomes Ike Diogu and Danny Granger’s team? Not too far off.

    26. Does Jim O’Brien realize that no one on this team can reliably hit a three-pointer? And no, Kareem Rush doesn’t count.

    27. Yi Jianlian is going to flip-flop so many times between “great player” and “crappy player” that it’ll be ridiculous.

    28. Time for a healthy Michael Redd to return the Milwaukee Bucks to relevancy.

    29. Mark my words: No Miami Heat in the post-season.

    30. Wouldn’t you want to end your career on a better team Zozo?

    31. Surely you’re not one of those people who believe that the Penny-Shaq reunion will amount to anything, right?

    32. Why is everyone writing Washington off, when like Detroit, they got younger and deeper?

    33. And Agent Zero is in a contract year! He is going to be phenomenal and then he’ll blog about being so darn phenomenal after each game.

    34. The Wizards’ conundrum: deal with Antwan Jamison’s expiring contract before the trade deadline or after it? I say after it.

    35. Stan Van Gundy’s much better than Billy Donovan anyway.

    36. I think it would shock the world if JJ Redick had a better year than Jameer Nelson. World, prepare to be shocked.

    37. Tony Battie is going to be out for the year, which means it’s time for Adonal Foyle to put up career numbers.

    38. As Sean May goes, so go the Bobcats. Wait, he’s out already? Then they are not a playoff team.

    39. Between Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, I think we can safely conclude that MJ doesn’t know the first thing about drafting players.

    40. I really want Atlanta to be successful. I think I’ll have to wait another year, though.

    41. Even if the Mavs do sign Chris Webber, he just doesn’t fit the Dallas offense.

    42. 60+ wins again? Very doable. If Josh Howard stays healthy, that is, and doesn’t miss another 12 games.

    43. Ime Udoka is the second coming of Bruce Bowen. Just what the Spurs needs.

    44. Unfortunately, Matt Bonner is not the second coming of Robert Horry. That would be the guy they sent over to the Rockets for essentially nothing.

    45. Duncan will still be Duncan, thank god.

    46. This is going to jinx it, but I honestly believe that this is the year where everyone will stay relatively healthy in Houston.

    47. Expect the revival of Steve Francis’ career.

    48. I can just imagine Rick Adelman rubbing this upcoming season in the faces of the Maloof Brothers, the owners of his previous team, the Kings. “You could have had this last season but you fired me for that DUI guy!”

    49. Luis Scola: Walking double-double.

    50. “Yes, Chicago, you could have kept Tyson Chandler, but you didn’t.”

    51. And you know what? Melvin Ely ain’t so bad either.

    52. Chris Paul is probably so tired of hearing people proclaim Deron Williams was the better draft pick that he’s about ready to explode.

    53. Everyone forgets that Memphis was great two seasons ago. They will be great again this year.

    54. Darko is free! Darko is freeeeeee!

    55. You’d think that Utah would stop drafting players by now that didn’t fit in Jerry Sloan’s system (Kirilenko, Brewer, Miles).

    56. AK away! All that’s left is for the Jazz to find the best offer.

    57. Chuckie Atkins > Steve Blake

    58. Nene > Kenyon Martin

    59. Another 70+ games for Marcus Camby? Perhaps he’s finally over that injury hump.

    60. Expect the revival of Channing Frye’s (albeit short) career.

    61. Is Darius Miles a secret weapon or trade bait? The latter, in my opinion.

    62. Once again, Al Jefferson: the best player on the worst team.

    63. Randy Foye is all hype.

    64. Look for the coaching carousel to continue to spin in Minnesota.

    65. The next team to adopt a Phoenix-style offense? The Supersonics, who will still be on the outside looking in when the playoffs roll around.

    66. Robert Swift will be good. And he’ll be better with Kurt Thomas tutoring him.

    67. I’m so confident in Brian Skinner’s ability to defend Tim Duncan that... Actually, I’m just slipping on my own sarcasm.

    68. This really is the beginning of the end of Steve Nash, isn’t it? I mean, he won’t break down this season, but next season is when the Suns fans should start getting scared.

    69. Kobe will pout quietly throughout the season, but look for at least a post-game tirade if they don’t make the playoffs. A big tirade, mind you.

    70. Nobody is walking through the door of the Lakers office. Not Jason Kidd, not Jermaine O’Neal, nobody.

    71. Everyone talks about Andrew Bynum needing to step up but Ronny Turiaf will be the one to spark the Lakers.

    72. The Golden State Warriors will out-Phoenix the Phoenix Suns.

    73. Marco Belinelli is legit. So is Kelenna Azubuike.

    74. That $10-million trade exception sure is burning a hole in the pocket of Chris Mullin.

    75. What is the point of rushing Elton Brand back? They might as well try to land the projected top pick of next year’s draft, OJ Mayo, who is a point guard.

    76. You know, the position that is going to be vacant when Sam Cassell decides he wants to end his career on a winning team?

    77. Of course, when Sacramento trades Mike Bibby away, they’re going to want to draft Mayo as well.

    78. That PF/C jam the Kings have is going to be solved with a trade and/or a buyout. Anything to get Justin Williams and Spencer Hawes more minutes together.

    79. Marc Iavaroni will be Coach of the Year.

    80. Kevin Durant will be Rookie of the Year.

    81. If he stays healthy, Yao Ming will be MVP, thanks to the addition of a superb passing game in Rick Adelman’s system.

    82. The bottom three: Sacramento, Minnesota, Indiana

    83. That Portland versus San Antonio season-opening game sure looks awful now.

    84. First week upset: Indiana at home, over a Wade-less Miami Heat on Nov. 2.

    85. All Star Weekend in New Orleans: Much adieu about nothing.

    86. PJ Brown took a page out of Roger Clemens’ book, deciding to sign sometime in November or December.

    87. This might be the year that Paul Silas will get hired again as head coach.

    88. Can’t say the same thing for Mike Fratello and Larry Brown.

    89. I can’t wait to see Shaquille O’Neal retire. Biggest party South Beach has ever seen. And he’s single, too!

    90. Greg Oden will play at least one game of the Portland Trailblazers’ season.

    91. Danny Ainge will be Executive of the Year, and deservedly.

    92. Chris Andersen will be the first player to come back from a drug suspension to play in the NBA.

    93. San Antonio (1) over Memphis (; Golden State (7) over Dallas (2); Phoenix (3) over Denver (6); Houston (5) over Utah (4)

    94. Chicago (1) over New Jersey (; Detroit (2) over Orlando (7); Cleveland (6) over Toronto (3); Boston (5) over Washington (4)

    95. San Antonio (1) over Houston (5); Phoenix (3) over Golden State (7)

    96. Chicago (1) over Boston (5); Detroit (6) over Cleveland (2)

    97. San Antonio (1) over Phoenix (3) in the Western Conference Finals

    98. Chicago (1) over Detroit (6) in the Eastern Conference Finals

    99. San Antonio repeats for the first time and wins the NBA Championship again.

    100. Robert Horry, Michael Finley, and Bruce Bowen will all retire happy and content.

    I don't agree with numbers 93 to 99. Here's my own picks:

    West:
[1] Dallas vs [8] New Orleans
    [2] Phoenix vs [7] Memphis
    [3] Denver vs [6] Houston
[4] San Antonio vs [5] Utah

    East:
    [1] Boston vs [8] Orlando
    [2] Cleveland vs [7] Miami
    [3] Washington vs [6] Toronto
    [4] Detroit vs [5] Chicago

    West:
[1] Dallas vs [4] San Antonio
    [2] Phoenix vs [6] Houston

    East:
    [1] Boston vs [5] Chicago
    [2] Cleveland vs [6] Toronto

    West:
    [1] Dallas vs [2] Phoenix

    East:
    [1] Boston vs [2] Cleveland

    Finals:
    Phoenix beats Boston in 7

Both San Antonio and Dallas and Cleveland and Detroit both belong to the same conference and divisions thus if one team makes it to the top 3, the highest the other team could make is the number 4 spot, not unless if the NBA changed their ruling.

I'm thinking about the Suns going all-out too. It's indeed BOSTON-PHOENIX for the Finals nowadays.

Here's a bit of info for Southeast teams:
