This ad is close to home for me... A perfect picture of my Papa Lito.

I remembered the days I'd spend my lunch time with him and my brother in USC Boys High so we could eat lunch together in Nang Clara's canteen and after dismissal time he patiently waits for me in CIC in his yellow Tamaraw while I play with my friends in the garden.

In Junior High until college, he would stay up so late so he could fetch me at 2 AM after I'm done partying with friends. The 2 AM-curfew was his idea so I could enjoy my teen years! Isn't he cool?

When I started working at 21, he would wait for me in Ayala movie ticket booth for our movie date every payday. Then we'd eat out afterwards.

Thanks so much, Papa Lito for being so patient with me and my siblings. What you've been through in the past is never an easy feat but you were able to get past through everything. I am looking forward to that day that you'll wait for me as you'll send me off to another beautiful chapter in my life.

    Happy Father's Day, Pappy!
    I love you, Pa!

When we used to travel by his Big Bike (Bisekleta nga Dagku ug ligid) padung sa bukid about 10 km away just to get some coconut leaves to be used as roof sa among payag. I was 6 to 7 yrs old that time. Sa sobra ka layo sa byahi-onon, i can't imagine giunsa sa akong amahan pagkaya ato. I used to ride on the top of bundled coco leaves gakatulogan na ko intawn mayra wa natagak.

Sadly wa na siya but i know happy na siya kay ang iyang mga anak successful na.

    There's a lot but here's a few:

My papa would always send me to school with his car when I was in grade school. There was one time, the car broke in the middle of the road. Papa tried to fix the car but later knew it'd take a lot of time and I'd be late. Papa then decided to ride a tricycle with me to school. At first, it was very awkward. It was the first time I saw my dad rode a tricycle! I felt as if he didn't belong and he was sweating like he wasn't used to that kind of environment. The tricycle was so small and it was almost full that we literally had to squeeze ourselves in plus my stroller bag! Through the ride, Papa constantly asked if I was okay and said that it was just temporary. What my papa didn't know was that I was more worried for him. When we arrived, he said he'll make sure it will never happen again. That time I really felt how protective my dad is and how special I am to him.

During my childhood years (sa wala pa nagbuwag akong ginikanan ), Papa would always take us every Summer to Surigao del Norte. That way, we can spend island hopping and beachin' everyday while he manages his shrimping business. It's like killing two birds with one stone for him. One time while the fish pond laborers were gathered for lunch, Papa invited me to sit down with them. He wanted to show me how to eat in a carefree 'pinobre' style. He also said something about life being enjoyed in many simple ways only in the province! Papa served me warm rice with salt on a banana leaf. He then gave me 'buwad' plus the tomato-suka sawsawan. After lunch, Papa borrowed the guitar from one of the trabahante's son. He held the guitar and did some fine tuning. I was skeptical and thought that he couldn't play. I never really saw him play the guitar until such time. As he strum the chords, he sang the lyrics to the song 'The Guitar Man' by Bread. I felt blood rush to my cheeks. I was so amazed how talented my dad was that time. And he played songs from our favourite epic band Bread! It's such an unforgettable and fascinating experience. Now as a grown up, I'm still fascinated with the local 'harana'. I think it's really sweet. Thanks to papa.

    I miss him so much

When my dad actually remembered when I said I want an overhead shower if the house gets renovated. He died last February due to a heartattack though I was able to do 1 round of CPR then he went under again and never came back.
