I do respect your choice of candidate for the upcoming elections but I wish that you do more research on the candidates first. Let us not rely on the things we hear and read from the radio and tabloids. Let us be proactive in choosing our leaders, the people we choose to intrust our tax money and our future. We must be responsible voters and invest time in getting to know the candidates and in choosing who is best deserving to be elected since we are responsible for all the corruption that occur in the government since we are the ones electing them.
I would just like to correct the information that you have heard regarding Lando Patalinjug. I'm not being bias here but he is my choice for Lapu Lapu mayor and I'd like to tell you why:
1. HE IS NOT Radaza's puppet. He is in fact considered as Radaza's only competition and greatest threat in the mayoral seat since he entered the race, throwing Pelaez out of the picture. You do not ask a man to run for a post who can and will actually win a post that you're also running for just to divide the votes.
2. The Kusgano Party under PDP-Laban (their party name) has invested much time and effort in running a campaign against the Radaza's in ending the inhumane crime of corruption that has persisted in the city for 15 years now ever since they R's have been elected into power. It is one of the party's platforms, to end the corruption, to end drugs, to give the basic and proper services the Oponganons desperately need and, to plan long term for the upliftment and growth of the city.
3. The platform of the party is simple but essential. One of their major projects, when elected, is to build a tertiary level hospital that will meet the needs of the city's population for the next 20 years.
If you have paid close attention to our city, you might observe that our hospital is rotten. It has been there for as long as I can remember and there haven't been any significant improvement in the services and facilities. If you haven't heard of a city hospital or seen it ever then there you go, we have one but to call it a hospital is an insult to other hospitals.15 years in the City Hall is enough time for a high ranking official to build a hospital that would meet the demands of our City's population yet they haven't done anything. As a desperate move since the administration has received alot of backlash during the campaig regarding the condition of the facility, they finally decided to improve it and I have seen a poster of the renovation of the hospital but why just this March? Is it enough? How about the patients occupying and getting treatment? Won't the dust, noise and inconvenience even cause more hassle to the patients? (If in a very critical situation where I'd die at home or go to the nearest hospital, I'd rather stay at home because for sure I will still die if I go there.) The hospital was built when the City's population was less than 10k, now we are more than 50k and that number is increasing. As elected officials, it is their job to provide services not short term or election period projects but they must think long term. It's just basic planning. *Planning doh, planohon man gani nimo unsa imong sul.ubon kung naay party unya
#ootd ra na ha! City pa kaha!* Building a city is not playing lego, you cannot just dissamble things so easily when things don't fit and work together.
4. Lando Patalinjug is lumad taga Lapu Lapu! (300 years under the Spaniards was enough. We "indios" cannot just allow it we must choose our own, BISAYA) Their old house was situated at the center of the city which is now the lot where La Nueva mercado is currently situated thus he knows the city and the people very well, I mean the man has lived and worked in the city his entire life. The late mayor Max was his uncle and is definitely one of the reasons why he decided to run for office. He has experienced the time when the city was progressing and was slowly becoming a city to be reckoned with. It was during Max's time that the economic zone (MEPZ) was built. It has definitely helped progressed not just the city but also its constituents. Lando has worked in MEPZ for more than 30 years as Divison Chief and he's one of the people responsible for the growth and boom of the economic zone.
***PLUS: he was awarded last August 2015 as one of the TEN OUTSTANDING CEBUANOS: for government service***
Unfortunately he has also experienced this time wherein the only good thing we see in our city is the improvement of roads (good but that's all we get roads and rampada) and the mayor's effort to beautify the city by painting that very unnecessary, COSTLY and annoying pattern on the walls, sidewalks, islands, and empty cracked plant boxes. Shouldn't sidewalks and center islands be painted yellow or white so that it can be visible to drivers at night? Safety first, hello! The city may have many awards but does that feed the poor and provide them roofs over their heads at night? Does it make commuting to work/school in the morning easy? Does it provide the medicine I need when I go to our hospital? Does it help in sending our children to school? Does it make me feel safe when I walk around at night? HELL NO! And traffic is getting worse than ever.
I have attended two of PARTIDO KUSGANO's rallies and I must say, they do actually have the sincerity for public service. Trust me when I say that their campaign is definitely not B**ll**it. 15 years is enough, you're in high school at 15 years old and that's a very loooooong time! we need CHANGE! +DUTERTE
(I mean you don't enter politics with a man who is known to kill for justice so when you do, and they currently are, it means that they must be doing something right, right?)
