Dli man gyud worth it going to Skylake from Haswell/Devil's Canyon. . The performance increase is just very slight. . Even cguro sa mga naka Sandy/Ivy Bridge architecture pa. .Unless you'll do benchmark and see those numbers..

We'll see how this Cannonlake performs. .we'll wait Q2 2017

basin micro-code ra ni na problem then na dala rag BIOS update. if severe gyud ni na case, then a recall would happen, ilaha ra ning i-100% retest ang mga CPUs.

pwerte ka wla gyu'y ayo mag upgrade ug CPU ron bro... the performance jump is not "light and day"... kun naka abot pa lang ka sauna na pag pagawas ug new CPU, mag kisi2x tanan ug upgrade gyud... hehehe... but, those were the bygone days... naks... ang tiguwang diri kay nag reminiscing the past... tuwingwingwing... harharharhahar... performance jump like from the 286 to 386... even from the 386SX to the 386DX... or, from PII to P4... or, ang recent lang... from 1st Gen Core to 2nd Gen Core series... on this series, the 2nd gen Core i3 goes head to head w/ the 1st Gen Core i7 specially on gaming performance...

karon, ang 2nd gen Core series (even the Celeron and Pentium less the single core Celeron series) computing and gaming performance is still on-date... it can still rub elbows to elbows with the current technology basta, i-compare nato on the same level of CPUs...

ako, SB & IB based from Celeron (G530T & G530), Pentium (G840, G860 & G2130) i3 (2120), i5 (2550K & 3570), i7 (3770) and Xeon (E3-1230 V2) ra gyud akoang mga current intel CPU rigs and Vishera (FX-6300) and Regor (Athlon II X2 260) on my AMD based rigs... puro ni sila up & running as of this writing...

for the GPU, wala pa pu'y lami i-upgrade... hehehe... very playable pa gihapon ang gihatag nila na fps... this is just me though... pero, once mo gawas nang Pascal then ang new games kay tailored sa performance nya unya, kulelat na ang performance sa Kepler, aw, gasto na sad ang tigs ani... hehehe...

Kita ko pentium skylake sa GI na na baligya. sa i3, medyo cheaper diay dri kay dili man mulapas 6k.

Interested kau sa overclocking sa mga non-k skylake cpu, kaso for selected z170 boards ra musupport, b150m ra ang akoa, sayang kaayo kung kabalo lang ko nga naay ingani gitiguman na lang unta nako para lahos z170.

anyhow, sa imohang rig, unsa man ang priority nimo? performance or power consumption? if performance, OC'ing is a must... if power consumption, then leave it as stock...

para light gaming/torrent/plex media server raman ni ako gsetup, mao low power ra jud unta i5 6400 + b150m. unya naintriga ra jud ko ani ila overclocking sa non-k cpu's. kay ang i5 6400 nga 2.7 - 3.2ghz , makaya daw abot og OC up to 4.3ghz according sa Asrock na advertisement.
