These are bots. I am not sure if you can fight this toe to toe. I hope an update of vBulletin can solve this.

i think implementing CAPTCHA when creating a thread will help minimize. not too sure though.

Sadly, there are ways to circumvent CAPTCHA. I would say bots of any kind are here to stay.There are anti-bot software that can prevent bots from registering at a set minimum time. Registrations are rejected if the form is submitted like within 10 min after the first registration. It means bots can have a maximum of 6 spams in an hour. It is better than nothing.

I think this is not a random act. Maybe a disgrunted Istoryan did this. Someone is really pissed.

is it possible to block the whole ip ranges? aka blocking the whole country.

problem if we have korean users here.

although this wont help if these bots are using spoofed ip addresses.

can't believe bots are smarter now and able to go through human verification.
